The OR is the most cost-intensive area of any hospital, so efficiency is the ultimate goal here. But this becomes difficult when large devices are included in sugery, for example intraoperative imaging devices such as a C-arm: Preparing and setting them up costs time, during which the surgical staff cannot work and during which the patients still lie on the table. The BG Klinik Ludwigshafen has developed a solution to this problem with the Ciartic Move self-propelled C-arm.
In our video, Prof. Dr. Paul Alfred Grützner, Medical Director, explains the problem of using a conventional C-arm in more detail and talks about the development of the Ciartic Move. He explains how the robotically operated, self-propelled C-arm makes the processes in the operating theater more efficient and thus relieves the staff.
Prof. Dr. Sven Vetter, Senior Physician and Head of the Spine Center, talks about the operation of the C-arm, which the OR staff can learn very quickly. Another advantage for Prof. Vetter: The Ciartic Move also produces very good X-ray images. Its precise controllability and configuration options also reduce the radiation exposure for the operating room staff.
