Tuesday, 17 November 2026, 6.00–7.30 pm
CCD Congress Centre Düsseldorf, Room 16
Event language: German
The summit will kick off with a German-language symposium on the future of German hospital care. Hospital reform, economic pressure, the shift towards outpatient care, staff shortages, digitalisation and artificial intelligence are fundamentally changing structures, roles and care models.
The focus will be on how to shape efficient, economically viable and patient-centred hospital care for the future. Topics for discussion will include the impact of hospital reform and transformation funds, the importance of cross-sector care, sustainable hospital structures, and the interplay between specialisation and regional care security. The role of digitalisation, AI and automation, as well as necessary investments and the political framework, will also be addressed.
The symposium brings together decision-makers from hospitals, the healthcare industry, associations and the political sphere. The focus is on the experiences of those who manage hospitals on a daily basis and are implementing the upcoming changes in practice.
