The Hannover Heart Rhythm Center at the Medical University of Hannover now enables ECG recordings to be transmitted directly into the electronic patient record in near real time. This approach supports faster assessments of cardiac arrhythmias by physicians and helps improve care pathways for patients while strengthening clinical workflows.

Atrial fibrillation remains a frequent cardiac challenge

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common cardiac arrhythmias worldwide and often appears later in life. It can increase the risk of stroke and heart failure. Diagnosing the condition remains difficult in many cases. It also facilitates follow-up care." He adds: "With the new technology, we are bringing cardiac rhythm care closer to patients."

For patients, quick access to medical review provides reassurance, as ECGs are no longer evaluated only during scheduled clinic visits.
