Adhesive technologies for diagnostic devices and wearable devices

The platform of skin-friendly adhesives from Adhesives Research (AR) is designed for the specialized needs of wearables, advanced wound care and drug delivery devices. Whether your application requires a gently removing adhesive for delicate skin, or a product capable of bonding a weighted device for extended wear, we have a reliable solution. Our products include SoftWear® adhesives, long-term wear adhesives, and electrically conductive adhesives.  They are biocompatible and customizable for short or long time wear.
For use in diagnostic devices, Adhesives Research hydrophilic adhesives and coatings are designed with efficient fluid transport and reduced analysis times.  A consistent sample flow through a microfluidic diagnostic device is crucial for reproducible results with low bias. Such devices are typically composed of hydrophobic materials that can hinder the flow of the biological sample due to the mismatch in surface tension between the two surfaces. ARflow® hydrophilic adhesives reduce the surface tension of the fluid to provide a tailorable, stable flow rate.   ARcare® double-coated spacer tapes are used to create capillary channels in diagnostic and biosensor devices for maintaining accurate sample volume and flow.  Our state-of-the-art manufacturing process coupled with in-line measurement gauges ensures a tightly controlled overall tape thickness. Both hydrophilic and spacer tapes offer long term physical and dimensional stability in high temperature and humidity environments. Biocompatible with both test reagents and biological samples, these adhesives are non-interfering with test results.
