New Launch – Hemostax®| Absorbable ORC

Futura Surgicare Pvt Ltd, a leader in the medical devices industry and has been delivering excellence in design, manufacture and distribution for the last 28 years with a focus on wound closure devices and operating under brands like Dolphin Sutures, Dolphin Mesh, Dolphin Tapes, and Dolphin Stapler.  We have now widened our product portfolio by launching Hemostatic products under the brand Hemostax (Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose) under a new vertical Dolphin Hemostats. Hemostax Standard is an absorbable hemostat that is designed to help surgeons control bleeding more efficiently.

When Hemostax comes into contact with blood, it will absorb the blood and gradually swell, eventually dissolving into a gelatinous material. By briefly applying pressure at this point, the material will adhere to the wound, effectively sealing the ends of the venous capillaries and resulting in a mechanical hemostatic effect.

Hemostax is designed to address continuous, broad-surface oozing and stop bleeding fast.  It can easily be applied across broad surfaces making it well-suited for use in a wide range of surgeries, such as certain gynecologic, oncologic, cardiovascular and general procedures.

Introducing Antibacterial Suture Range

Dolphin Sutures proudly presents to you Antibacterials, the World’s largest range of Antibacterial Sutures. With a focus on patient safety and providing confidence to Surgeons in a variety of clinical settings, the R&D team at Dolphin Sutures worked extensively and developed the wide selection of antibacterial sutures.

Surgical site infections (SSI) are infections that occurs after surgery in the part of the body where the surgery took place, i.e. a wound created by an invasive surgical procedure. An SSI typically occurs within 30 days after surgery and may cause redness, delayed healing, fever, pain, tenderness, warmth, or swelling. SSI are associated with severe morbidity and mortality, especially in high-risk patient populations

Infections after surgery are caused by pathogenic organisms. The most common of these include the bacteria Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Pseudomonas. Germs can infect a surgical wound through various forms of contact, such as from the touch of a contaminated caregiver or surgical instrument, through germs in the air, or through germs that are already on or in your body and then spread into the wound. In addition, the presence of suture material in wounds increases the susceptibility of the tissue to infection. To prevent microbial colonization of suture materials, our Antibacterials range of sutures were developed.

The Antibacterials range introduced by Dolphin Sutures contain Triclosan coating that is a known broad spectrum antibacterial and antifungal agent and is very effective at killing microorganisms. Triclosan as a broad spectrum antiseptic is known from in vitro and in vivo studies to reduce the adherence of selective clinical Gram-positive, Gram-negative, drug-resistant, and biofilm-forming strains to the surface of surgical suture.
