Biomedical Microrobot System for Precise Interventional Treatment and Target Therapy

Our microrobot medical system utilize electromagnetic coils and magnetic guidewire microrobot which a magnetic microrobot is attached inside the guidewire, for interventional treatments. Electromagnetic coils generate electromagnetic field that is harmless to the human body, and allow the operator to magnetically, remotely manipulate the microrobot guidewire inside the patients' body.

When the user wishes to deliver a micro/nanorobot from one point to another, one may simply input the desired direction and distance in the software. Electricity Control Box(ECB) will automatically calculate the amount of electricity required for each coils to execute the user input, and provide electricity accordingly. Shortly after, the user will be able to observe the robot moving from one point to designated point.

Our magnetic microrobot system for treating vascular diseases and its downsized version, 3DMag-Lab, provide enough work space for the operator and researchers to fully access the patient/test subject and utilize conventional medical devices. In the case of magnetic microrobot system for interventional treatment, electromagnetic coils are placed/fixed underneath the patients' bed, allowing a whole open space for the medical team to approach the patient during the procedure. It is also highly compatible with existing medical devices such as X-ray, maximizing the efficiency for medical team and the hospital. Similarly,3DMag-Lab provides the researchers a complete free space above the electromagnetic field area, allowing more equipment for better experimental environment. For instance, a microscope with a flashlight could be installed for detailed vision, an infrared device for detecting micro/nanorobot structures injected inside the test subject, a photographic device for recording, and so on.

Our magnetic microrobot medical system and 3DMag-Lab is seeking to provide hospitals, companies, research institutes, and other organization a new design and device for treatment of vascular disease and research on advanced drug therapy with maximized patient/subject accessibility and compatibility with conventional equipment.
