Fast-Track Solution for the Development of Wearable eHealth Solutions for Clinical Research @ MEDICA Connected Healthcare Forum (Hall 12, Stand 12E35)

The demand for wearable health-tracking devices has increased significantly over the last years. Many new solutions have found their introduction to different markets ranging from consumer-grade activity trackers up to medical-grade solutions designed for remote monitoring of patients at home.

However, when applied in clinical investigation, many researchers find themselves in a situation where a compromise between high-quality data acquisition and wearable design must be made. While activity trackers are often available in lean and modern designs, the acquisition of high-quality data does often not meet the requirements of clinical research. Medical devices, on the other hand, may meet medical-grade data requirements but may face other hurdles such being available in a less consumer-friendly design or have only limited access to the acquired sensor data for the researchers.

This presentation aims to present PLUX's versatile biosignalsplux and BITalino biosignal acquisition toolkits which are specifically designed for R&D applications, where developer-friendly interfacing solutions and fast-track custom biosignal wearable development is needed.

The Role of Multi-Biosignal Sensor Acquisitions in Sport Performance Research @ MEDICINE+SPORT Conference

Presenting the role of multi-biosignal sensor acquisitions in Sports Performance Research on the use case of the ongoing Citius, Altius, Sanius (Faster, Higher, Healthier) project in the Netherlands.

The projects covers multiple sub-projects focused on fitness (athlete and non-athlete level), running, soccer, tennis, baseball, paralympics, and cycling and is running since 2018 until 2023.

The mission - "Injury-Free Exercise for Everyone" - aims to resarch sports injury prevention and the development of innovative technology to find a balance between performance improvement in sports and lowering the risk of injury. Essentially, it aims to find out how much training load is too much (increase injury risk) and too low (low performance improvement).
