2-way 5 mm-Valve

Precise flow rates - low power consumption - large pressure range

Staiger's new 2-way 5 mm-Valveis ideally suited as a pilot valve and for dosing the smallest volumesof non-aggressive media. This ultra small and fast switching valve follows the trend of further miniturization and thus enables even smaller installation spaces an a higher integration density than before.

Spider Microvalves

Small, wear-free & fast as lightning!

Spider valves are allocated to the micro valve category (outside diameter 7 mm). In technical terms, spider valves are distinguished by the anchor type design. The anchors installed in the micronized valves have the shape of a disk. In energized status, this so-called flat armature is pulled against the magnetic yoke component group.

If the coil is deactivated, the leaf spring joined to the flat armature presses the seal positioned on the spring-armature assembly unit against the valve seat.

These quick-acting valves owing to the small mass of the installed armature achieve switching phases in the millisecond range. As these valves predominantly featuring cartridge connections have an almost frictionless armature movement, they have a capacity of up to 4 billion actuations, depending upon operation mode.

Spider valves may also be triggered via so-called pulse width modulation. In this application, the electrical power is conducted in impulses to the solenoid assembly group; the duration of these impulses controls the valve’s opening phases and subsequently the desired flow rate. These devices may accordingly fulfill the function of a proportional valve.

The Spider-valve is available in sizes 7 mm, 15 mm and 21 mm.

Spider µProp - Micro Proportional Valves

We have brought all our competencies to embed all the key features of our Spider technology in a new proportional valves series: the Spider μProp. Already successful used in Respiratory, Fuel cell systems or in electronic Flow Regulators, the Spider μProp may be controlled using DC current or PWM in open or closed loop control.

Small, accurate, with a very long life time and easy to embed due to its cartridge design, the Spider μProp is used for precision dosing of the flow or pressure of gas and liquids in all kind of critical applications. The Spider μProp provides a fine, smooth and accurate regulation during the whole lifetime of your product!

These valves have a flat armature that moves between the seat and the solenoid. The flat armature is assembled together with a flat spring which presses the integrated sealing element against the valve seat in the de-energized position. Flat armature valves distinguish themselves by frictionless movement and very high life cycles. The Spider μProp are real proportional valves in which the armature stroke and thus the flow rate can be varied by the applied coil current.

Spider HiProp

This valve combines the advantages of spider valve technology with those of pressure balanced valves. Its large nominal size allows high flow rates. In addition, it is characterized by a high reproducibility of the characteristic curve. At the same time, the electrical power consumption is significantly reduced compared to a directly controlled proportional valve with an identical nominal size. The compact design of the valve offers a wide range of installation options in different areas of application.

About us

Company portrait

STAIGER develops and manufactures high quality micro solenoid valves and fluidic systems for a wide variety of applications.

After meanwhile 47 years of company history we will continue our innovative track and offer  new products and engineered solutions especially in the fields of proportional valves and microvalve technology.

As an owner controlled family business we have a strong customer focus and attach great importance on sustainable, personal and long-term customer relationships, world wide.

With around 200 highly qualified employees, we develop and produce innovative solenoid valves and valve blocks according to the requirements of our customers.

At our site in Erligheim near Stuttgart we manufacture everything from one single piece over serial production up to mass production. Hereby we also create all necessary manufacturing and testing devices in house.

This unique know how enables us to develop cost efficient high-tech solutions, which create a real competitive advantage for our customers.

It is therefore no coincidence that our customers are global market leaders of the Medical Technology, Automotive, Industrial, Pneumatics, Aeronautics and last but not least Drinking Water industries.
