Poland Convention Bureau

The Polish Congress Ambassadors Program is being implemented with the cooperation of the Polish Tourism Organisation and a non-Governmental organisation, the Conference and Congress Association in Poland, which was established to promote Poland as a place for international congresses and conferences.

The main objective of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program is to gain congresses for Poland, ensuring at the same time effective assistance with attracting similar events to our country, by Polish people working within the structures of international organisations, e.g. scientists and specialist from various fields.

Similar programmes are also being used by many countries in the world as a successful international marketing tool.

So far, the title of Polish Congress Ambassador has been awarded to 270 people, and a group of outstanding personalities from the world of economics, science and culture have taken part in the Project Chapter. The task of the Project Chapter, chosen every 3 years, is to select a group of Polish Congress Ambassadors - people who would be able to promote Poland as a place for the forthcoming international events and publicise information about Poland’s best points, within their international environments.

About us

Company portrait

The Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) is one of several dozen national tourism organisations operating in the world. Our objective is the promotion of Poland as a modern attractive country offering tourists a high standard of services and appealing prices. We carry out work focused on the promotion and development of Polish tourism both at home and abroad.

We are a government agency supporting legal entities dealing with tourism.
We organise national stalls at the largest tourism fairs held both in Poland and abroad, at which the exhibitors include representatives of the industry and self-governments.

The Polish Tourism Organisation has representatives in 14 countries all over the world (Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and USA). Thanks to our familiarity with the specific character of assorted countries we are able to plan our promotion campaigns by taking into consideration the nature and requirements of particular markets.

We invite foreign journalists and tour operators to come to Poland. Such fam trips result in numerous articles about Poland and proposals to visit our country made in tour operator offers.

We cooperate with regional and local tourism organisations. Jointly, we embark upon undertakings aimed at increasing interest in Polish towns, regions, and tourist products among domestic and foreign visitors. We also organise numerous promotion events, seminars, training sessions and issue promotional publications about Poland. Brochures published in 12 languages promote active, health, and business tourism, and highlight the tourist assets of towns and regions, including historical monuments and sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List as well as other attractions, which might be of interest to the potential tourist.

Increasing the competiveness of Poland on the international tourism market is connected with an analysis of trends in global tourism; this is the reason why we cooperate with international organisations involved in this particular domain. Knowledge about tendencies in the world tourism market enables us to determine priorities for Polish tourism.

Since 2002 Poland Convention Bureau has been operating as a department of Polish Tourism Organisation and is responsible for the promotion of Poland as an attractive destination for meetings and business events as well as is the first contact for anyone seeking information on business partners and conference facilities, who is planning to organize association congress or a corporate event in Poland.

We also introduce modern solutions from the range of computer science, such as the Online Tourist Information System (Internetowy System Informacji Turystycznej - ISIT).
