STÜKEN MEDICAL offers components for medical devices plus comprehensive service

STÜKEN MEDICAL offers a comprehensive range of processes for applications in medical technology with certification according to ISO 13485 and cleanroom class 7 / GMP C. The support in development, validation and qualification as well as the comprehensive documentation guarantee a reliable cooperation with partners from the entire industry. Interested parties can see this for themselves at the COMPAMED from November 15th to 18th, 2021 in hall 13, booth E13.

In medical technology in particular, secured processes and comprehensive documentation of production data and procedures are essential. The specifications of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) in Europe as well as the global requirements for components for applications in medical technology require consistent quality assurance. As a manufacturer of deep-drawn metal components, STÜKEN MEDICAL also offers in-house finishing. Validated cleaning, heat treatment, cleanroom packaging, electropolishing, passivation, and subassembly including laser or resistance welding are just a few examples. The advantages are obvious: full process control remains in one hand. If required, biological cleanliness can be verified with accredited laboratories.

"Our equipment at the Rinteln site alone comprises over 200 presses with press forces of 6 to 125 tons," explains Nils Petersohn, Managing Director at STÜKEN. "This enables the production of deep-drawn parts with dimensions from less than 1 mm to max. 90 mm length/diameter. Component wall thickness covers the range from under 50 µm to approx. 2 mm. We process a wide range of materials: stainless steel, titanium, non-ferrous metal alloys, aluminum as well as molybdenum and tantalum. Many other metals are possible. Our tool design is always supported by the simulation of the forming process by means of FEA (Finite Element Analysis). We produce our tools in our own tool shop, according to customer specifications." In addition to ISO 13485, STÜKEN is also certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.

As part of the COMPAMED from November 15th to 18th, 2021, STÜKEN MEDICAL will be offering the opportunity to discuss new applications and projects directly with their specialists in hall 13, booth E13.

90 years of STÜKEN - 90 years of technology leadership and innovation

Deep drawing specialist STÜKEN celebrates 90th anniversary
In 1931 Hubert Stüken founded the family business. Today, the world market leader employs 1250 people at five locations in Europe, Asia and America

Hubert Stüken started his own business in 1931. His first products were automatic machines for assembling buttons and wheels for toy cars. In 1958 the hundredth employee was hired and the annual turnover exceeded one million DM for the first time. In the 1970s STÜKEN developed and built the first progressive presses in-house. Volume increases, increasing cost pressure and the quest for competitive advantages led to the commissioning of automatic punching presses with progressive dies in 1980.

For STÜKEN, the 1990s were a decade full of innovative products in the automotive industry - the medium-sized company helped develop ways to make driving safer and more economical. The first foreign location, opened in the USA in 1998, was followed by a plant in the Czech Republic in 2005 and a production site in China in 2006. The product range was expanded to include stamped and stamped-bent parts, plastic-molded components and assemblies.

With new machine types and technical innovations, STÜKEN has repeatedly set new standards in the thermoforming industry. Dr. Hubert Schmidt, spokesman for the management board, cites deep drawing of stainless steels, eddy current testing technology, laser welding and the SWEP surface hardening process as examples. "Customers value our expertise for deep-drawn parts with particularly high degrees of forming, unusual contours or extremely small dimensions. We offer a range of finishing processes that is unique in the industry. Our components are ready for use and can be processed directly. You can rely on our know-how. Our quality enjoys an excellent reputation." To ensure that this remains the case in the future, STÜKEN invests in research and development. "As a technology leader, we always want to be ahead of the game," says Dr. Schmidt. "Our ambition is to explore and expand the limits of what is possible.
