BFB4 - Biofeedback

The BFB4 Fisiocomputer is a Double-channel Electromyographic Biofeedback, that is an Electromedical Device for Physical Therapy designed to detect and present in graphic form the surface potentials that are transmitted by the nerve fibers. All this in order to perform motor rehabilitation exercises.

The BFB4 consists of a single electronic unit that integrates both a PC-Tablet (in which the application software is pre-installed) and the patient-interface, to which the two patient cables are connected. The latter are connected to the single-patient adhesive electrodes by means of special clips. Power is given exclusively by the battery contained within the Tablet. From a very thorough analysis of the available literature, it emerges that countless scientific articles have been written around the world on the use of biofeedback in orthopedic rehabilitation.

Analyzing the composition of these works it results that the knee, the ankle, the shoulder and the cervical segment of the column are the most followed joints. Few jobs have been performed on the remaining anatomical sites and in particular on muscle traumas, on the trunk and on the hip. Beyond the statistical significance of these works it is clear that today it is possible to define a state of the art in the rehabilitation protocols with biofeedback, so much so that the National Tariff Nomenclator also includes at least two entries of “Individual motor rehabilitation in motuleso … included biofeedback “among the specialist outpatient services recognized nationally by the LEA.

IP1 - Hyperthermia

When we speak of Hypertermia we mean the possibility of focusing in a well defined area on the inside of the body, at a variable depth (from 1 cm up to 8 cm).

Sufficient energy to bring the affected part (volume- target) to a high temperature (40°-45°) very specific and controlled without adjacent parts undergo disturbances. The great feature that makes this a unique new thermotherapy is the excellent reproducibility of the thermal parameters, through the use of sophisticated control systems and the implementation of energy systems and target radians.

To achieve these objectives, the J&S made use of its experience in the field of electronic design company dedicated to medical, pouring technologies developed in the context of projects funded by the European Commission crowned with success and acclaim.

In addition to achieving the goals set, the use of these acquired technologies has reduced costs thus making it possible to optimize the value of both the machinery and of its operating costs.
This new method of induction heating is found to be far more suitable for the cure of certain diseases and resolve situations that appeared ostiche and the pattern unhelpful and chronic (contractures, tendonitis, mucolari injuries, arthritis, etc..) All this there does understand how hyperthermia is far more effective than all other therapies that are based on the heat as a means to cure the patient (radar, marconi, etc..).

To give a better idea of what we call immediate “jump” from one system to the new frontier in biomedical now surpassed that is hyperthermia, we provide the primary data comparison between the various thermotherapy used to date.

Analyzing the effectiveness of the “Fisiocomputer IP1”, we must underline the importance that the reproducibility of the series of sessions and increased blood flow (up to 10 times higher than normal) in the target volume specified by us in ensuring many pathologies a speeding up of the healing period extremely valuable. We arrived at the epilogue of what physiotherapy rehabilitation would call “the solution” a system capable of controlling the temperature of the surface layer of the application (skin).

A system able to radiate heat directly, in a controlled and homogeneous, to tissues (volume- target) placed up to 8 cm depth from the applicator system that ensures the reproducibility of the therapies performed ie the possibility to maintain a constant and precise temperature required in the absence of areas overheated whenever we decide to repeat the same patterns of application.

A system called E IP1. the elements that make up the IP1 are the highest expression of technology on the market today, the development of the electronics revolves around systems based on the use of ISPLSI (in-system programmable Large Scale Integration) that allowed flexibility and effectiveness of the project unthinkable until recently.

LTS-60 Power Scanning Laser

The Fisiocomputer LTS-60 - Scanning Power Laser is an electromedical for physiotherapy for the treatment of the patient by laser beam, for therapeutic purposes only.

LTS-60 is an electromedical device used in scanning laser therapy.
It should be remembered that the LASER ray (“Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”, that is “Amplification of light by means of stimulated emission of radiation”) is essentially a light beam, whose main characteristics lie in the monochromaticity (like saying that it is emitted a single luminous frequency, unlike the light we are used to, which is always broad spectrum) and in geometric coherence (that is, thanks to the previous feature, it is possible to generate laser beams with very small opening angles, typically for medical applications in the order of one or two mRads).

From these two characteristics derives the fact that with a laser light it is possible to easily obtain much greater power densities than with traditional light sources, and this fact, in addition to having been exploited in various industrial, spatial and military fields, has been for several years also used in the medical field, although with different application areas.

In fact, the so-called “power-laser” is distinguished (which mainly generates photo-evaporation effects and photo-chemical reactions: an example for all is the laser-scalpel) from “mid-lasers” and “soft-lasers” ( that have exclusively biostimulant effect).

The other versions, instead, (from LTS-05 to LTS-20) given that they employ laser diodes whose emission falls into the infrared, require guiding light (visible) which is implemented with the use of a laser diode that emits light red.

Since these versions have significantly higher working beam powers (“mid-laser”), it must always be remembered that, even if the action modes are similar to the lower power version, these thermal effects are no longer completely negligible (especially if continuous emission with small deflections is adopted), for which particular attention is required from the operator in the dosage of energy (which depends on the combination of percentage of maximum power, repetition frequency of the impulses, scanning area of the beam).

The main reason that leads to the adoption of greater working powers, however, is the greater rapidity of therapeutic action, and ultimately the shortening of treatment times.

Level and nature of Fisiocomputer LTS

The “Fisiocomputer LTS” emits, in all its versions, a laser beam scanning, that is deflected automatically by a pair of mirrors placed inside in the vicinity of the laser aperture present posteriorly.

The LTS-00 uses a He-Ne tube that emits a power of 5 mW (continuous in time and not adjustable in intensity) at a wavelength of 633 nM and with a difference of 1 mrad.

The IR versions, however, all use a laser diode that generates the beam – guide at a wavelength of 635 nM, with a power of 5mW.

The beam of the work is instead obtained by an array of laser diodes emitting at the wavelength of 808 nm (infrared). The maximum output power varies from 500 mW CONTINUOUS version of the LTS- 05 to 2 W CONTINUOUS version of the LTS -20. For the laser working can be adjusted both the peak power (from 0 to 100% of nominal) that the emission mode, selectable between continuous and pulsed (in this case from 1 to 5000 Hz , with adjustable duty cycle from 5% to 95 % in steps of 5%).

It should be remembered that the versions LTS- 00 and LTS- 05 are Laser Class 3B.
Instead, the other two versions (LTS -10 and LTS- 20) are Laser Class 4.
Mode of delivery of the laser beam

For all versions of the beam is deflected automatically both in a “vertical” (ie in the direction of “depth” of the apparatus) in the sense that the “horizontal” (ie in the lateral direction). For each of the two deflections, which are operating simultaneously, are adjustable by the operator is the absolute positioning of the beam scan width.

The sweep speed is fixed to the vertical (and is such that even by setting the maximum amplitude of the human eye perceives a continuous line, and then the resulting frequency is always higher than the frequency of fusion of the retina , generally estimated at 16 Hz) and adjustable for horizontal (this time on much lower values, so that the resulting frequency is always such as to sense the lateral movement of the vertical line). The horizontal scanning speed is adjustable between 0.25 and 2 rad/sec (which is roughly equivalent to a range of horizontal scan times ranging from one to eight seconds for the maximum deflection).
The laser beam can exit the rear opening within a solid angle contained in the horizontal limit of 60 ∞ (+30 ∞ with respect to the central axis) and the vertical limit of 55 ∞ (from 30 ∞ to 85 ∞ to get up from the vertical to the ground).

Within this solid angle setting limits for deflections ranging from 0-∞ to the theoretical maximum (depending on the opening Laser). If both width adjustments are set to minimum (0-∞), the scan is reduced to a fixed point.

The Fisiocomputer MOVESCAN is a three-dimensional and rotational electro-medical positional biofeedback, allows the measurement of rotation angles in the three dimensions of all the joints.

From a very detailed analysis of the available literature emerged in the world have been written numerous scientific articles on the use of IMU sensors (“Inertial measurement unit”).

Included in the product there then are a wireless keyboard, a monopodal tilting platform, a pair of sensors IMU (optionally you can have a bipodalic platform); platform and sensors can be connected to the central unit via cable (USB). How does work Cryoultrasoundtherapy?

The anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-edema is expressed due to various factors: the mechanical factor, represented by the “set in vibration” by the ultrasonic cells of the treated tissue, thus determining a sort of “micro” in depth, and the thermal factor: the temperature increase induced by the ultrasound promotes vascularization and the elimination of the molecules responsible for inflammation (toxic metabolites), however the temperature increase occurs only at the surface level, thus removing the blood to the muscles and thereby obtaining hemostatic action, (ie stop the leakage of blood), very useful after trauma; the other hand, the action of cold, (which first causes vasoconstriction immediate, but then vasodilation by “vasoparalisis“), is represented essentially of an analgesic effect and relaxant; the chemical factor: ultrasound accelerate the scrapping of toxic metabolites responsible for inflammation; also applying an ointment anti-inflammatory ultrasound facilitate its penetration in the tissues, (thereby increasing the effectiveness), with a technique called “sonophoresys”.

The ultrasound emission from the head may be continuous or intermittent; likewise, the operator/dating, use the handle in a circular motion or keep him still.
