Our products

Product category: Filtration systems, filtration equipment, Glass, plastic, metal laboratory items, Disposable articles for laboratories

cellQART® Cell Culture Inserts

With our cellQART® Cell Culture Inserts we are dedicated to resolve the dilemma of customer needs for innovative cell culture products meeting highest standards at affordable prices.

This product portfolio will come with PET membranes in translucent or clear optics and 6-, 12- or 24-Well format which is compatible with most standard Cell Culture Plates. Our standard portfolio includes pore sizes from 0.4 μm to 8.0 μm with various pore densities.

Project based customization (especially alternative membranes, e.g. black colored or further pore sizes) is possible due to 100 % in-house production of plastics & membrane components.

All Inserts are TC treated and gamma sterilized in general as well as RNase / DNase free and non-pyrogenic. With our industry leading quality standards we ensure 100 % membrane parameter consistency for reproducible cell culture results.

Benefits:
  • Affordable prices – buy directly from the true OEM
  • Unique 100 % membrane parameter consistency for reproducible cell culture results
  • Broad standard portfolio and customization – Ensured by complete in-house plastics & membrane production

TRAKETCH® Filter Membranes for rapid microbiological tests (Rapid Microbiology)

Using the membrane filter method, a sample is filtered through a TRAKETCH® membrane. All microorganisms in a 100 ml sample solution are concentrated and retained completely (100%) on the membrane surface.

Detection is performed directly on the membrane by adding a fluorescent dye which can only penetrate through intact cell walls (living organisms). To ensure adequate measurement of the emitted fluorescence after stimulation by a laser, the membrane should have a low fluorescence. Otherwise we would see "a white image on a white background", i.e. we would only see a fluorescence of the entire surface.

To avoid this, SABEU stains this membrane in deep black to quench the fluorescence in defined ranges of wavelengths. This entire microbiological detection method is called solid phase cytometry, in which the membrane represents the solid phase. This method is not only rapid, but also in real time, i.e. within just 1–2 hours. In comparison, the growth of microcolonies takes 1–2 days, whereas growing visible colonies takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the microorganism.

Benefits:
  • Quantitative filtration through surface filter
  • Low autofluorescent deep black membrane
  • Smooth membrane surface for easy transfer of cells

TRAKETCH® Filter Membrane for pap smears to diagnose HPV

Conventional pap smears quickly reach their limitations as the thickness of the smear layer can vary. Irregularities in processing the samples can be avoided thanks to product solutions in the field of thin-layer cytology, which are made possible by our TRAKETCH® membranes.

The cylinder is turned upside down during the cell transfer, so the sample is transferred to the microporous membrane on the slide. Air pressure from the other side of the membrane filter as well as the hydrophilic surface of the TRAKETCH® membranes assist the transfer of the cells from the membrane to the slide.

TRAKETCH® Filter Membranes for venting applications

Sterile venting is mostly indispensable in Life Sciences and Medical settings.

The lab environment needs to be protected against microorganisms – but conversely, living microorganisms also need to be protected against contamination from the outside. It is also vital to ensure that no microorganisms can enter patients through the contact with medical devices. At the same time, openings in these devices to the outside need to be equipped with sterile air filters in order to protect the environment against potential contamination.

Our TRAKETCH® PET 0.2 VENT meets these requirements in several respects. First, this filter membrane provides a reliable barrier against even the smallest microorganisms, both in liquids and in air. Second, the VENT membrane keeps out liquids thanks to its super-hydrophobic (oleophobic) surface, that is PFOA-free, of course.

In addition, TRAKETCH® Membranes are not only biocompatible as per USP Class VI but are also stable against all sterilization methods, including gamma irradiation. Their extremely smooth surface also causes liquids to form droplets and run off the membrane, for example in the lid of cell culture containers, so that the membrane always stays dry, ensuring the necessary sterile air venting. This example of an application for cell cultures is just one of many.
