X-ray protection - Table mounted lower body shields

Kenex lower body table shields substantially reduce exposure to scatter radiation emanating from the table or patients body.

  • Lightweight and durable.
  • Easily mount to either side of the table allowing the pivital arm to always face the head end.
  • Curtain widths of 78 cm, 92 cm, 100 cm, 114 cm & 137 cm.
  • An attachment bracket slides onto a 25 mm high tableside accessory rail (max 11 mm thick). Some models can be quickly adjusted to fit either a 25 mm or 29 mm accessory rail.
  • Enhanced double friction joint or single friction pivot.
  • All shields have automatic wear adjustment ensuring accurate joint friction and preventing unwanted movement even when the table is tilted.
  • Pivotal arm supports a flexible 0.5 mm Pb lead curtain creating a 'safe zone of occupancy'.
  • Lead curtain consists of a flexible inner layer with a durable outer covering bonded to it. This means the lead protection cannot fall away unnoticed.
  • Curtain forms around an under table x-ray tube without impeding movement.
  • Shields are available with a one piece or three piece curtain and are easy to clean.
  • Optional semi-flexible top shields for additional protection to the upper body.

Our people
In 1970, Kenex was established as a small family business, dedicated to providing the best possible products to a growing market. Now, as Kenex continues to expand, the same family maintains the same approach. Each member of the Kenex team has clearly defined roles, providing our customers with the excellent level of service they deserve. The low turnover of staff helps maintain continuity and allows our customers to form excellent working relationships with us. Indeed, we believe that the cornerstone of our success has been the quality of the relationships we build with our customers, which includes some of the worlds leading OEMs, as well as small companies and individual end users. However you contact us, your query will be dealt with quickly and effectively.

Our history
Kenex (Electro-Medical) Limited was established in England in 1970, designing and manufacturing low volume quality radiation and imaging accessories. A family owned business from the beginning, Kenex steadily built a reputation within the UK as an equipment manufacturer that sought to provide solutions specifically for the healthcare industry.

As a trusted provider, Kenex steadily grew its product range and market share. The company's reputation within the UK meant that expansion into overseas markets was a natural progression. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Kenex expanded. We moved into new premises, employed more people and established our leading position by continually developing our core range, adding high quality products. Additional mobile and overhead radiation shields were complemented by the introduction of Lytatype™ protective clothing.

Kenex built an unrivalled reputation as an innovator in design with a clear understanding of customers' needs. Manufacturing and distributing products to the world's OEMs, the Kenex trademark became synonymous with quality, reliability and style. In addition, designing and manufacturing a number of tailor-made products, produced around the specifications, themes and styles set out by customers became a key strategic development.

Today, we continue to evolve and improve our product range and service. With an increased market share, additional team members and a move to a larger, purpose-built facility, the company continues to adapt. Owned by the same family for 50 years, Kenex looks forward to building on the success of the past, whilst maintaining the same level of professionalism and attention to detail which has set it apart from the competition for so long.
