DiaSpect Tm hand-held Hemoglobin Analyzer

EKF Diagnostics’ DiaSpect Tm is the world’s fastest hemoglobin analyzer. DiaSpect Tm delivers laboratory quality results in just about one second of the microcuvette being placed into the analyzer.

The hemoglobin analyzer is palm-sized, making it easily transportable, and ideal for use in any screening setting even in challenging climatic environments.

DiaSpect’s ‘always-on’ technology means that professionals can start to use the device immediately and the rechargeable internal battery, which provides up to 40 days / 10,000 tests continuous use, provides the flexibility of not needing a power source for weeks at a time.
The microcuvettes have a shelf life of up to two and a half years and can be used until the expiration date, even after opening the bag. This makes them ideal for settings with low prevalence of anemic patients.

The microcuvettes are unaffected by humidity or temperature and are therefore particularly suited for use in hot and humid climates.

In addition, they are designed to collect a blood sample from any angle without forming air bubbles; this feature ensures that the need for repeating the testing procedure is minimised.

DiaSpect Hemoglobin T Analyzer

EKF Diagnostics’ DiaSpect Hemoglobin T has an imprecision CV (within run) of < 1 % and is factory calibrated against the HiCN reference method according to ICSH. The device provides a hemoglobin result and calculated hematocrit reading from one small 10 μL blood sample. Capillary, venous or arterial blood (EDTA and heparin anticoagulant) can be used.

The DiaSpect Hemoglobin T has many user friendly features including a programmable color screen display that lets you select language options and units of measurement. The motorised microcuvette holder softly pulls the filled cuvette into the analyzer, which minimizes the risk of contamination.
The reagent free microcuvettes have a long shelf life of 2.5 years from date of production and they are unaffected by moisture or temperature even after opening the bag.  This makes the system ideal for use in low volume testing settings or hot and humid climates.

The device is also conveniently portable with an integrated lithium-ion battery that provides more than 40 hours continuous use and a plastic carry case.  Weighing just 500g, the analyzer is small enough and compact enough to use in the field or in remote settings.

DiaSpect T Low Hemoglobin Analyzer

EKF Diagnostics’ DiaSpect Hemoglobin T Low is designed for the quantitative determination of low levels of hemoglobin in plasma and serum specimens, aqueous solutions, or stored or banked erthrocytes.

This hemoglobin analyzer has a measuring range between 0.3 and 30.0 g/L (0.03 - 3.0 g/dL) and, because its based on the standard T analyzer, it delivers laboratory quality results within one - two seconds of the microcuvette being placed into the analyzer.

Applications for the DiaSpect T Low hemoglobin analyzer include:

To check the quality of stored blood samples. Hemoglobin leakage into plasma is a sign of sample degradation or ageing
To establish the degree of purification of plasma samples
Research applications
The DiaSpect T Low hemoglobin analyzer has a high quality color display with excellent readability and a "magic touch"self-closing cuvette holder, which avoids contamination of the device optics.

The microcuvettes have a shelf life of up to two and a half years and can be used until the expiration date, even after opening the bag. This makes them ideal for settings with low test volumes. The microcuvettes are unaffected by humidity or temperature and are therefore particularly suited for use in hot and humid climates.

Hemo Control Hemoglobin Analyzer

EKF Diagnostics’ Hemo Control is a point-of-care hemoglobin analyzer designed to provide quantitative, lab quality hemoglobin results from 25 seconds.

Hemo Control uses the most established photometric azide methemoglobin method ensuring reliable results with a high precision (CV <2%).

Hemo Control is used in blood banks, hospitals and doctors’ offices for routine screening for anemia. And, due to its backlit screen, a soft-load cuvette holder and integrated rechargeable battery, it is the perfect analyzer for stationary use and mobile settings.

In addition to providing hemoglobin measurement Hemo Control also calculates hematocrit.

The Hemo Control analyzer features a bi-directional interface using a public standard protocol that allows direct integration with third party software.
Advanced data management functions are available with the Hemo Control Manager version of the device and  the basic Hemo Control device can be upgraded with data management functions at a later point of time (a unique market feature).

The ‘Add Pack’ Data management is an ideal future option for customers who plan for an implementation into a hospital or lab information system but are not yet in a position to do so for technological or budgetary reasons.

EKF's Hemo Connect and Hemo Connect Light software remain available for customers who wish to use data management and data export functions, independent from LIS integration.

HemataStat II Hematocrit Analyzer

EKF Diagnostics’ HemataStat II is  a microhematocrit centrifuge that provides a quantitative hematocrit reading for up to six blood samples from one 60 second spin.

Hematocrit is the volume percentage (%) of red blood cells in blood. The measurement is taken as the amount of red blood cells in relation to the amount of plasma from a spun capillary or venous sample.

HemataStat II is ideal for point-of care and laboratory use in clinics and hospitals. Its compact size and the optional battery pack makes it well suited for outreach programs and also for veterinary settings. HemataStat II is used in 100% of the plasma collection centers in the USA as it allows a simple hematocrit measurement and further-on analysis of the plasma fraction for proteins. The multi-lingual display provides easy to follow instructions to ensure accurate results every time.

HemataStat II combines easy maintenance with a high degree of user safety, for example, heparinized ClearCrit® tubes are used to collect the blood sample and are available in plastic,  Mylar®  wrapped glass or self-sealing Mylar® wrapped glass. Two different diameters of tube are available for low and regular sample volumes.

The high quality HemataSEAL® tube sealant seals both plastic and glass tubes equally well to  eliminate leakages and blow-outs and ensure accurate and reliable results time after time.
