ME501 - Piezoresistive Flush Membrane

Metallux ME501/ME505 pressure sensors are made with a ceramic base cell and a flush diaphragm and work following the piezoresistive principle. The Wheatstone bridge is screen printed on one side of the flush ceramic diaphragm which is, in turn, glued to the sensor’s body. The bridge faces the inside where a cavity is made and the diaphragm’s opposite side can therefore be exposed directly to the medium to be measured. Because of the Al2O3 ceramic excellent chemical resistance (aggressive gases, most of solvents and acids, etc.), no additional protection is normally required. Metallux ME501/ME505 sensors are thermally compensated by laser adjustable PTC resistors and the use of ceramic ensures a high linearity across the entire range of measurement, reducing effects of hysteresis to a minimum.

ME509 - Piezoresistive Flush Membrane

The Metallux SA ME509 are piezoresitive ceramic pressure sensors specially designed for level measurement applications. The cell diameter is 32.4mm, a well known standard for low pressure range and high-performance applications. The measuring bridge is directly printed on one side of a ceramic diaphragm by means of thick film technology.The rear side of the flat diaphragm can be exposed directly to the medium without any additional protection due to the excellent chemical resistance of the ceramic.The ME509 is available for Absolute or Gauge pressure. Typical ranges: 200 and 500 millibar full-scale. Other ranges available upon request.

ME750 - Piezoresistive Monolithic with signal conditioning

Metallux ME75x and MEP75x are monolithic pressure sensors made with ceramic cell and work following the piezoresistive principle. The Wheatstone bridge is screen printed directly on one side of the ceramic diaphragm by means of Thick Film technology and signal conditioning electronics are added to generate 0.5…4.5 V ratiometric output (ME750), current loop 4…20 mA (ME751) or 0…10 V non ratiometric output (ME752). Also available in customized version I2C output. Pressure and temperature calibration are done electronically with the on-board ASIC and can be performed in bar (ME75x) or in psi (MEP75x). Electronics provide offset and span correction when temperature changes. Aging detection and compensation are constantly performed. This new method guarantees good precision and long-term stability. The Metallux ME75x family meets EMI requirements. The ASIC stores production lot specific data for sensor traceability and allows custom calibration. Due to the excellent chemical immunity of the the Al2O3 ceramic, the ME75x sensors are suitable for nearly all aggressive media.

Electronics provides offset and span correction when the temperature changes. Aging detection and compensation are constantly performed. This new method guarantees good precision and long-term stability. The Metallux ME78x family meets EMI requirements. ME550 - Capacitive Ceramic

Metallux ME550 pressure sensors are made with a ceramic base cell and a flush diaphragm and work following the capacitive principle, in which the pressure measurement is given by the variation of capacitance due to deformation of a capacitor’s plates. The moving capacitor plate is screen printed on the flush ceramic diaphragm which is, in turn, glued to the sensor’s body. The capacitor plate faces the inside where a cavity is made and the diaphragm’s opposite side can therefore be exposed directly to the medium to be measured. The wide diameter (32.4 mm) and the use of the capacitive technology make the ME550 a sensor suitable for measuring very low pressures, as low as 60 mbar. Nevertheless, ME550 sensors feature a high burst pressure, making them quite reliable in many applications. Because of the Al2O3 ceramic excellent chemical resistance (aggressive gases, most of solvents and acids, etc.), no additional protection is normally required. Metallux ME550 sensors can be provided in the gauge or absolute versions.
