Welcome by our booth and check out the small cables we make out of ultra-fine wires, for example multi-filar cables and thermocouples. Our wire is 0.01 mm to 1.0 mm (0.00039 in to 0.0394 in) for most alloys, and other sizes are available on request.
To produce wire of dimensions down to 0,01 mm/diameter (0,00039 inch) it needs craftspeople of extensive experience to make the diamond dies used in our precision wire manufacturing.

COATINGS WITH UNMATCHED QUALITY AND COLOR SELECTION

From precision tolerance coating to multi-filar micro cables, we can provide you the best possible solution for your specific medical device application. The EXERA® medical wire is available in a wide range of surface treatments.

Single wire configurations can be electroplated with custom thickness of gold or nickel and provided with polymer, PTFE and multilayer coatings. We offer insulation and bondable coatings.

INSULATION COATINGS
We provide insulation coatings for temperatures up to 240°C (464°F). In addition to standard NEMA or JIS builds, we can apply 'thin' and 'ultra-thin' builds of insulations. These builds are thinner than NEMA Type 1, but still meet the dielectric property and other requirements of NEMA Type 1.

BONDABLE COATINGS
Bondable coatings can be applied to bare wire or as a second coat over the top of any of the insulations that are offered. The amount of coating applied can be standard NEMA or JIS build or thinner amounts as required.

If a special coating or insulation is required Sandvik will work with you to develop a process for its use. Sandvik has, for example, developed low out-gassing, high-temperature, self-bondable coatings specifically designed for the hard disk drive industry to reduce contamination and deliver good resonance performance.

We make cable configurations of your choice

Single strand and multi-filar micro-cables can be manipulated into different cable configurations. Stranded cables provide a more flexible and versatile wire based solution than single ended wires because strands can deform and move independently versus the bulk medium and different base metals or alloys can be incorporated into the cable.

The strands are formed by twisting and wrapping together multiple single ended wires or previously joined multifilar wires or cables to form a single entity. The individual single strands that comprise the multifilar cable can be bare or individually coated prior to cabling. The overall stranded cable can also be overcoated with a polymer or PTFE after the cabling operation. The range for single ended cable diameter is 0.018mm to 0.25 mm (0.0007 to 0.010 inches).
