Additively Manufactured Mold Inserts for Medical Devices
The development of new medical devices often requires the capacity to make prototypes from original plastic material in a cleanroom. The requisite small runs can be accomplished quickly and cost-effectively with the aid of master molds and additively manufactured mold inserts.
Maximum precision in manufacturing and measuring from a single source In July 2019 Riegler GmbH Co. KG in Mühltal took a new measuring laboratory into operation. From now, the quality of plastic components and systems for the medical technology, pharmaceutics and diagnostics industries is controlled centrally by means of a state-of-the-art and automated measuring technology. Moreover, the company invested in a new tactile measuring machine.

The major part of production is located in clean rooms according to ISO 14644-1, Class 7. Highest, standardized quality and hygiene standards are assured using gapless, certified quality management according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 13485.
There are currently 330 employees working at three sites in Mühltal and Ober-Ramstadt – on a total area of around 55,000 square meters.
