Bloom cardiac electrophysiology stimulator

The most advanced technology comes to the Bloom® series in the form of a touchscreen, removing the headaches seen in other new devices in the EP market.

With Bloom2, the electrophysiologist’s preferred protocol setups can be pre-programmed, and are available to alter in an instant – just like the established DTU system.

The touchscreen simplifies setups, while conventional tactile switch controls provide that familiar, recognized “touch” during procedures.

The tactile controls are on a small moveable panel for control of ongoing pacing during the unfolding diagnosis. The panel is operated without any visual distractions: No menu “drill downs,” but still the unrestricted instant burst system for which the Bloom is famous.

Bloom 2 FDA Clearance

DENVER, April 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Fischer Medical has announced that the Bloom2 cardiac electrophysiology stimulator device has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance.  The Bloom2 stimulator is a fundamental component of nearly all electrophysiology (EP) procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac rhythm disorders.

The release of the digital version of the Bloom  gives electrophysiologists and EP staff members a modern user interface, eliminates tedious dropdown menus and retains the tactile feel of the original Bloom.  Physicians have long used the original analog Bloom for their patients since it was introduced by Murray Bloom in the 1970s.  The Bloom2 was painstakingly engineered with the classic Bloom user in mind, mapping the analog system directly to the digital so the adoption of the digital system would be simple and intuitive for Bloom customers.

"The Bloom2  represents years of research and development to integrate the key components of what made the original Bloom the market leading stimulator worldwide," said Wes Rogers, President & CEO of Fischer Medical.  "The Bloom2  is the only stimulator on the market that offers the tactile feel of the original Bloom combined with a  state-of-the-art user interface."

Company details

Fischer Medical has been actively involved in cardiac electrophysiology since it introduced its x-ray systems in the 1970’s.  Fischer continued its line by manufacturing recording and monitoring systems for electrophysiology.  With the acquisition of Bloom Associates Ltd. of Reading, PA in 1992, Fischer added a key component of the electrophysiology lab to its arsenal.

The Fischer brand dates back to the H.G. Fischer Company founded in 1910.  H.G. Fischer began in Chicago, IL and is the oldest manufacturer of X-ray imaging devices in the U.S.  We continue this proud tradition today with the Bloom®DTU-215B and the Bloom² line of cardiac stimulators.

Fischer Medical also manufactures and distributes a variety of ENT and audiology devices and instruments.  We offer a complete line of equipment for all otorlaryngology needs.
