Microelectronic biochips for miniaturized analytical devices

For your project of miniaturized analytical devices we are offering suitable microelectronic biochips specific for your application and support you during the whole research and development process with our more than 20 years of experience in microelectronics. We develop integrated and multimodal sensor systems as for example biosensors based on electrical, optical and electrochemical measurement principles, optional in form of an array structure allowing the synchronized real-time detection of multiple parameters. In cooperation with our partners we detected DNA hybridization and antigen-antibody binding with high sensitivity for the diagnostics of prostate and colon cancer.

Microelectronic biochips for quantitative point-of-care diagnosis

For the quantitative point-of-care diagnostics, we offer microelectronic research and development services for the production of sensitive and portable rapid tests based on optical and electrical measurement principles. Together with our partners we are currently developing an integrated sensorchip solution for the detection of cervical cancer. We gladly support the development of rapid tests according to your demands from scratch or with already available microelectronic sensor elements, as for example the optical detection in immunological and molecular cancer diagnostics.

Microelectronic RFID sensor systems for diagnostic and analytical applications

Whether for the early detection of diseases by wearable sensors or the monitoring of growth parameters of a cell culture in an incubator, we offer the development of microelectronic sensor systems for diagnostic and analytical applications. One of our key competences is the coupling of sensors via RFID for the wireless transmission of parameters like the temperature. Our CMOS-based RFID sensors are powered by the reader and can therefore be operated battery-free.

As the basis of our work, we harness off-theshelf, reasonably priced fabrication techniques and CMOS technology, incorporating them into innovative diagnostic systems. One important focus of our research is the integration of a variety of detection principles into a single electronic sensor to measure biological and chemical features from which full and accurate deductions can be made. We work in close conjunction with our partners to match the systems to the application, for instance by providing interfaces that are made of biocompatible materials or by accommodating the packaging. All this brings closer a future of point-of-care testing which is fast, reliable, cheap and largely automated.
