IVD's are medical devices typically used to perform tests on various bodily fluids and tissue by creating a conductive signal utilizing enzymatic cocktails. CTI's expertise in electrochemical biosensors help create these signals with enhanced micro-circuits utilizing capabilities like ablation, fine-line printing and deposition of nano-fluids.  Often times these capabilities, foster an exceptionally cost effective alternative to the photolithography process, by ablating a sputtered gold film leaving micro-circuits as fine as 5 microns (with optimization).  Secondary printing process can then be employed to create wells, dielectric surfaces and other features on the biochip at a fraction of the cost of circuits using the spin-coating/photolithography processes.  We have coined these multiple processes as CTI's 'Hybrid-Printing Process.'

Biochips offer miniaturized Multiplexed Point of Care Test (MPOCT) capabilities. These chips reside on silicon or other solid substrates that permit numerous tests to be performed at the same time.  Typically biochip circuits are produced using photolithography which is a slow and costly process.

  • Wearables – require flexible and sometimes stretchable conductive inks to perform bio-rhythmic readings, measuring/applying temperature or perspiration analysis.
  • Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Flexible Heaters – constructed using several elements and critical parameters for delivering self-regulated temps up to 80°C (176°F) within ±5°C (9°F).
  • RFI/EMI/ESD Shielding – both independent and switch-integrated protective shields to guard against digital interference while grounding vagrant electro-static charges.

The discovery stage of a project with Conductive Technologies (CTI) begins with these simple steps:

  • Review customer’s drawings with all critical dimensions
  • Begin Development*
  • If the product is to be provided as an intermediate, a layout or list of layout constraints is required
  • If Labile Reagents are needed, customer must provide handling and final performance specifications
*During early development, it is feasible to have several sensor designs printed on the same sheet. This affords our customers the opportunity to evaluate several designs during initial testing and to help identify good candidate designs for further development.
