We are supporting the further training of surgeons by developing the “HandsOn.surgery“-system, an interactive training system for e.g cochlear implants. “HandsOn.surgery“ enables surgeons to virtually perform surgeries risk-free on real patient models. The training is carried out with individualized 3D models segmented from real CT data. Visitors will be able to test the system at our booth 10/G05.

Low-cost alternative to whole slide scanner
The Fraunhofer Institute IIS has developed an affordable, simple to use and reliable alternative to desktop slide scanners. Within the automated imaging process our “iStix®” technology “stitches” together individual microscopy images in real-time and without a motorized stage. The result is a panoramic image or a WSI dataset. Benefits depending on the field of application are for example, easy documentation for results in high resolution overview images and accelerated diagnostics.
