EIZO Releases Its Brightest 27-Inch Full HD Surgical Monitor for Endoscopy and Microsurgery

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the CuratOR EX2721, its brightest 27-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) wide screen surgical monitor for use in endoscopy and microsurgery.

The EX2721 is equipped with an LED-backlight LCD panel with a maximum brightness of 900 cd/m² – the highest brightness among EIZO’s CuratOR Surgical Monitors – for clearly reproducing high definition endoscopy and microsurgery images.

To increase safety in the OR, the monitor has rounded corners, and a fully flat protective glass front with a hardness of 9H making it highly resistant to scratches. The glass front has IP45 protection against foreign material and splashes (the whole monitor has an IP32 rating) making it possible to safely sanitize the monitor in compliance with OR regulations. Furthermore the monitor has superior heat dissipating technology, allowing it to stay cool without a fan. This offers an extremely quiet monitor that does not disturb air flow.

EIZO will be demonstrating the CuratOR EX2721 in Hall 10/H41 at Medica 2018 from November 12 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Availability
The CuratOR EX2721 will begin shipping from December 2018. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.

EIZO Releases Its First Surgical Field Camera with 4K Resolution and Fully Integrated Triaxial Mount

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the CuratOR SC430-PTR, EIZO’s first surgical field camera, with 4K resolution and integrated triaxial camera mount for high definition and intuitive capture of surgical proceedings.

The SC430-PTR is a medical-grade surgical field camera with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160) and a progressive 60 Hz signal for capturing surgeries smoothly and in high definition. Furthermore, the camera has 30x optical zoom, allowing even small, narrow surgical sites to be recorded in detail.

Built with an integrated camera mount with +/- 170 degrees pan, +90 and -30 degrees tilt and +/- 165 degrees roll, the camera is able to be adjusted to the ideal angle with ease. This integrated mount also allows the camera head to pan parallel to the field of view, rather than the orientation of the camera head, creating intuitive and confusion-free control.

Typically when under high zoom, a camera’s movements become quicker and harder to control. The SC430-PTR is equipped with stepping technology that slows the camera’s movements as zoom increases, so that even under high zoom the camera head moves at a speed appropriate to the field of view.

Whether using the Camera Control Unit (CCU) panel or wireless remote control, the camera can be controlled from anywhere within the operating room. Furthermore movement is made even easier with the joystick mounted on the CCU panel or optional wired remote. The camera can also be controlled from operating room software such as CuratOR Caliop.

The camera mount can easily be attached to VESA-compliant ceiling arms, and attaches to the CCU via a single cable for effortless installation. This single cable supplies the camera head with power, and transmits both audio and video.

EIZO will be demonstrating the CuratOR SC430-PTR in Hall 10/ H41 at Medica 2018 from November 12 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Availability
The CuratOR SC430-PTR will begin shipping from March 2019. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.

EIZO Expands Its Surgical and Endoscopy Lineup with Release of High-Brightness 4K Surgical Monitor

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the CuratOR EX3241 – a 32-inch, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) surgical monitor with high brightness, image sharpening technology, and optical bonding for clear and accurate viewing of endoscopy and microsurgery images.

The EX3241 features 4K UHD resolution with high brightness. It is equipped with an energy efficient LED-backlight LCD panel producing a maximum brightness of 700 cd/m², reproducing 4K endoscopy and surgical microscope images in high resolution and high brightness. Furthermore, using EIZO’s Smart Resolution with Sparse Coding (S.R.S.C) proprietary technology, full HD images can be enhanced to a 4K resolution without any lag, making full use of the monitor’s 4K resolution.

4K UHD resolution can be transmitted via 12G-SDI (BNC), and DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI via a single cable. When displaying 4K resolution with standard 3G-SDI, four cables are required – however with 12G-SDI, the EX3241 transmits 4K resolution at 60 frames per second through a single cable. Typically HDMI cables cannot be locked into a terminal but this monitor contains a specialized locking mechanism on its side specifically for HDMI. This ensures all cables can be locked onto the monitor for consistent and stable connection. The 12G-SDI (BNC) can transmit a signal over long distances of 30 meters.

The monitor features rounded corners to prevent injury when moved around the operating room, and features a fully flat design which has protection against foreign material and splashes to a level of IP45 on the front and IP32 in entirety. Cleaning and disinfection can be done safely and efficiently without damaging the monitor. It can also contain cables neatly in the supplied cable cover for safe and hygienic use.

The monitor’s protective glass has a hardness of 9H, making it resistant to impacts. Furthermore, the monitor is equipped with optical bonding which reduces the amount of reflections on the screen, for clear images even in bright operating rooms.
EIZO will be demonstrating the CuratOR EX3241 in Hall 10/H41 at Medica 2018 from November 12 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Availability
The CuratOR EX3241 will begin shipping from May 2019. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.

EIZO Announces 58" Monitor with 4K UHD Resolution for Endoscopy and the Operating Room

EIZO GmbH today announced the CuratOR EX5841, a new 58" monitor that achieves faithful representation of surgical images. The monitor offers a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) and is designed for use in endoscopy and the operating room (OR).

The EX5841 uses an LCD panel with energy-efficient LED backlight, a brightness of 500 cd/m², and a contrast of 5000:1. It displays detailed high-definition images from 4K endoscopes and surgical microscopes. Full HD images from conventional endoscopes and surgical cameras are shown without delay on the full 4K UHD screen.

The LCD panel used enables a very high viewing angle and high brightness. The EX5841 provides a flicker-free picture even with low refresh rates which fulfills the strictest ergonomic requirements. In addition, the monitor is equipped with a protective screen that shields the LCD screen against shocks as well as scratches and dirt. The front is protected against foreign material and splashes with a protection class of IP45, and the entire device has protection class IP32.

In dual source mode, two different signal sources can be viewed on the monitor screen simultaneously. With the PaP (Picture-and-Picture) function, the two images are displayed side-by-side, and with the PiP (Picture-in-Picture) function the second image is shown on top of the main signal. The size and position of the display window is adjustable with PiP. In triple source mode, three signal sources can be displayed on the screen.

The monitor supports various video input and output signals in order to connect different types of modalities. In addition, a communications interface enables image switching using external OR equipment. With 12G-SDI (BNC), DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI, 4K UHD signals with up to 60 frames per second can be displayed on the monitor using a single cable. Furthermore, all cables can be locked onto the monitor for consistent connection. 12G-SDI (BNC) has stable transmission over a distance of up to 30 meters.

Various settings can be saved in the monitor as presets, such as the selection of video input and brightness, grayscale display, color space, etc. The user selects these with the designated preset button.

Visitors can see the new monitor from November 12 to 15 at the EIZO booth in Hall 10, stand number H41 at the Medica 2018 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany.

EIZO Releases Its First 4K Ultra-High Definition 3D Surgical Monitor for Improved Accuracy During Surgeries

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the CuratOR EX3141-3D, EIZO’s first 31.1-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) widescreen surgical monitor with 3D display to help improve the accuracy and reduce the duration of surgeries.

The EX3141-3D is EIZO’s first 4K 3D surgical monitor, achieving both detail and depth for endoscopy and microsurgery. It faithfully reproduces images in 4K UHD resolution at a high brightness of 450 cd/m2 – even when displaying 3D images. By combining 4K resolution with 3D-recording technology, endoscopic systems are helping to reduce operating times and improve accuracy in the OR. Designed specifically with these systems in mind, the monitor ensures that 3D endoscopic images are displayed clearly and optimally in 4K resolution. Furthermore the monitor comes with optical bonding to improve visibility by reducing reflections on the front of the screen. With high brightness and minimal reflections, images are highly visible even in bright operating rooms.

With EIZO’s proprietary image sharpening technology Smart Resolution with Sparse Coding (S.R.S.C.), full HD images shot by conventional surgical and endoscopy cameras are displayed in high-definition 4K resolution without any lag. The monitor also ensures vivid colors by emulating the 4K video color standard BT.2020. Furthermore with HDR support, images are displayed with deep blacks and bright whites, close to the human visual system. These features ensure that images are displayed as close to reality as possible.

The monitor is designed with safety and hygiene in mind. It features rounded corners to prevent injury when moved around the operating room, and it also features a fully flat design which has protection against foreign material and splashes to a level of IP45 on the front and IP32 in entirety. Cleaning and disinfection can be done safely and efficiently without damaging the monitor. It can also contain cables neatly in the supplied cable cover for safe and hygienic use.

The EX3141-3D is EIZO’s first surgical monitor to feature 12G-SDI (BNC). Standard 3G-SDI requires four cables to transmit 4K UHD resolution, however with 12G-SDI, 4K UHD resolution can be transmitted at 60 frames per second via a single cable. This fast transmission is also possible with DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI. Typically HDMI cables cannot be locked into a terminal but this monitor contains a specialized locking mechanism on its side specifically for HDMI. This ensures all cables can be locked onto the monitor for consistent and stable connection. With the 12G-SDI (BNC), stable transmission is possible even over long distances of 30 meters.

EIZO will be demonstrating the CuratOR EX3141-3D in Hall 10/ H41 at Medica 2018 from November 12 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Availability
The CuratOR EX3141-3D will begin shipping from January 2019. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.
