SensUS Touch

SensUS Touch is the only device worldwide allowing the objective assessment of childbirth progression: it avoids the operator-dependence, thus, it drastically decreases the occurences of human errors. It is based on an internationally patented technology , unique worldwide, which integrates the QUS (Quantitative Ultrasound) approach into an advanced hardware/software system, able to overcome the traditional limitations of ultrasound (US), essentially due to qualitative assessments and dependence on operator skills. SensUS allows a safe fetus monitoring from the beginning of labor until the delivery moment simply through non-invasive translabial echographic scans. The echographic images are acquired and automatically processed to measure the most important fetal progression indicators: Fetal Head Station (FHS), Progression Angle (PA) and Rotation angle (RA). Just few seconds are enough to safely and reliably assess the fetal progress in the birth canal, displaying the progression indicators both via highly intuitive 3D reconstructions and synthetic graphics.

ProgSim is a dynamic phantom that includes an anatomically realistic model of pubic bones with a fetal head that can be moved to simulate different fetal head stations (from -2 to +2).
It allows both reliable simulations of transperineal echographic imaging and easy visual check of actual fetal head position.

About us

Company details

Amolab, spin-off of the National Research Council in Lecce (Italy), is a research-based and high-tech company specialized in the development, design and production of innovative ultrasonic medical devices for non-invasive monitoring and diagnostic support of labor progression. Amolab offers clinicians an objective tool to assess fetal well-being during labor, overcoming limitations of current technologies in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
Our mission is to provide to the medical community the first solution for a quantitative, automatic, non-invasive and safe monitoring of labor. Fetal progression through the birth canal may be now automatically assessed and objectively quantified avoiding operator dependence, thus drastically decreasing human error rates. Finally, midwives and gynecologists will be supported by an effective, innovative, and easy to use medical device.
