PHYSIOTHERAPY

Unlike the more classical radiofrequency devices commonly used today in Physiotherapy, the working principle of Q-Physio is not based exclusively on a the mere thermal effect.

The stimulation which leads to the regeneration of injured soft tissues is instead obtained thanks to the peculiar spectrum of frequencies of the electrical field applied. As demonstrated by basic research conducted on cells culture at the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology of the University of Padua, the stimulation induced by Q-Physio works in a much more subtle and refined way.

In particular, Q-Physio, contrary to the classical radiofrequency, does not use a single frequency, but a broad spectrum of different frequencies, ranging from 4 MHz to 64 MHz; all these frequencies are transmitted to the patient’s injured tissue at the same time. By using multiple frequencies simultaneously it is greatly increased the likelyhood to interact at cellular level (since every frequency interacts in a slightly different way), and stimulating therefore regenerative processes.

Indeed, the aim of the therapy with Q-Physio does not consist in inducing a mere reparation of injured tissues (which usually comes with the formation of internal scars) but in stimulating instead a proper regeneration of the injured structures, leading therefore to a new tissue which has the same properties and characteristics of the original one.

The therapeutic action of Q-Physio is usually accomplished via two different steps. During the first phase, to which the injured tissues usually respond very fast, the therapy induces a strong anti-inflammatory and anti-oedema effect, which leads to a consistent decrease in percieved pain. During the second phase, that is, later during the therapy sessions and in the weeks following the end of the treatment cycle, the damaged tissues regenerate in a stable, sound and permanent form.

SCOPE
Q-Physio has proved to be extremely effective in the treatment of the following pathologies:

  • Muscle trauma (contraction / stretching / tearing)
  • Tendonitis, synovitis, bursitis, fasciitis
  • Epicondylitis, scapulohumeral periarthritis
  • Neck pain, back pain, lumbago
  • Bruises and sprains joint
  • Herniated discs
  • Arthrosis
  • Reduction of post-traumatic edema and / or post-operative

MODE OF USE AND THERAPY PROTOCOL
Q-Physio therapy can be carried out either through the use of specifically designed adhesive electrodes or through a manual electrode. It is also possible to use, during the same session, both procedure modes.

When the energy is delivered, the patient feels a comfortable warmth that seems to come from inside out. The light warmth is absolutely pleasant for the patient. Because of the peculiar working principle of Q-Physio, it is not necessary to use an high intensity, which might turn out to be uncomfortable for the patient.

The treatment of pathologies not related to chronic diseases usually gives good results very quickly. In these cases, a substantial reduction of pain is obtained after only 2 to 3 sessions. The patient should, however, even in these cases, continue and conclude the cycle of sessions (usually from 6 to 8), in order to achieve a complete regeneration of the injured tissues, therefore stabilizing and consolidating the full recovery.

The standard protocol prescribes 2 to 3 sessions per week, although the treatments may also be carried out daily, when very fast recovery is required (for example when treating injured professional athletes). The duration of each therapeutic session, depending on the type of pathology and the extension of the area to be treated, ranges usually from 10 to 25 minutes.
