NEWSTER NW SERIES FOR TREATMENT OF SOLID HEALTHCARE WASTE

Newster® is a frictional heat  treatment technology for the processing and sterilization of solid healthcare  waste. The sterilization cycle is based  upon mechanical demolition of waste inside the vessel .

The waste is heated up to 150°C to achieve a microbial inactivation at 6 log10 reduction or greater.

A cycle lasts  on average   25-30 minutes ( over 135°C   for approx. 3 minutes) to sterilize  (Log 10-6 G. Stearothermophilus) .

The material treated is uniformly sterilized as a result of the continuous friction and shredding during cycle.

The parameters are kept under control and recorded by PLC. The treated residue shows a 70-75% loss in volume  and a 20-25% loss of weight .It is dry, unrecognizable and odourless after cooling. There are no remains of sharps or cutting objects and there is no environmental pollution. Cost reduction is achieved  because no special disposal is needed. Transport and storage costs are reduced  due to weight and volume loss and there is the opportunity for  energy recovery projects  using sterilized residue as refuse-derived fuel (RDF).

Newster SWT SAFE WATER TREATMENT

The Newster  SWT SAFE WATER TREATMENT plant has been designed and manufactured for the mechanic treatment and final disinfection of wastewater from healthcare facilities and in particular from infectious disease wards. The plant consists of a section for mechanical grinding and separation of solid parts followed by a section for disinfection with Per-Acetic Acid. As disinfectant, it is possible to use also sodium hypochlorite or chlorine dioxide. The treatment shreds biodegradable materials in water to obtain a homogeneous suspension, whereas non-biodegradable solids are separated and collected in a dedicated bin.. 10³metres of water per hour are treated and the plant works 24/7. The plant is completely automatic and does not need continuous monitoring. The staff needs only to carry out checks and verifications at predefined times.

NEWSTER PURA LAB 4.0

Newster Pura® system is a compact integrated plant dedicated to the neutralization of medical laboratory fluid waste in order that it can be discharged into public sewers, guaranteeing their specific treatment and environmental safety.
The small size, the automatic operations and the need of minimal maintenance of Newster Pura® make it ideal for installation inside hospitals, medical laboratories and external service centers .
Newster Pura® system utilizes a strong oxidation reaction mediated by hydroxyl radicals produced by Fenton process, a well-known Advanced Oxidation Processes. . At the end of the process, the sludge is an average 3% of the initial fluid waste volume. The treatment is completed by activated carbon and HEPA filters. At the end of the cycle the filtered water is discharged into the municipal sewage system in accordance with the limits of law. Newster Pura® system has no hazardous gas emissions: the machine is equipped with activated carbon filters that block any chemical vapor emissions into the environment.
