New pressure sensitive textiles

Alpha-Fit’s new technical textile is made with special coated filaments which have sensory properties. With these new filaments it is now, for the first time, possible to measure space-resolved pressure distribution on variable areas in 3D, purely textile, without sensors. The filament itself measures.

We present two products:
  • A 145x700 cm mattress cover to measure pressure distribution. Can be used for the prevention of ulcer.
  • A sock to measure pressure in a shoe on the foot during walking

These innovative textiles can be used as an instrument for measuring or diagnosing in a number of different areas such as medicine, orthopaedics, sports and technology.
