Lifelines Photic Stimulator

Ideal for photic activation during EEG studies.

The Lifelines Photic Stimulator combines the brightness of a Xenon flash with the utility and ease of use of an LED device. The device has an equivalent lamp shape and brightness to previous class-leading products, but is smaller, lighter and more energy efficient by utilizing bright light LED technology.

The disadvantages of Xenon tube lamps are well known. They are heavy mains powered devices that are generally very expensive, generate a lot of heat, generate a noise artefact, are difficult to mount and can be awkward to use.

About us

Company details

A collaboration of EEG software and hardware
Lifelines iEEG is a collaboration of two medical device companies: Lifelines Ltd in the UK – the manufacturer of Trackit and Sleepwalker recorders and of Kvikna Medical ehf – a software development company and medical device manufacturer, located in Iceland.

Decades of experience
Lifelines iEEG is a brand of excellence, where people with decades of experience in software and hardware engineering have met to create innovative, pioneering solutions for EEG. These people not only have ambition for excellent engineering, but they have a passion for EEG solutions.

Lifelines iEEG software
The server-based Lifelines iEEG software is more than data storing or data sharing. It is a specialized software solution capable of storing, processing and presenting different types of data used in patient management, acquisition and review of EEG and synchronization of EEG with video. The iEEG solution enables and facilitates expert collaboration and consultation, worldwide with the same look and feel as if the data were being stored locally. The solution has proven to have not only economic benefits but it provides both quality and excellence to the EEG procedure.

Excellence as standard
The story of the collaboration goes back more than 20 years when the Icelandic company Taugagreining started their development of the Nervus EEG products that were a true revolution in digital EEG performance at that time. One of these products was of course the Nervus Monitor, intended for use in the ICU and NICU – which was at that time, not a traditional use of EEG. Whereas today the monitoring of EEG in these wards has become a standard of care.

Pioneering Ambulatory EEG and Sleep recorders
At the same time two pioneers in the UK had developed and marketed a pioneering product for the Ambulatory EEG and Sleep markets in the UK and later worldwide. The Trackit recorders have a track record of consistently high performance in some of the world‘s leading hospitals and epilepsy centers. Customers have come to rely on Trackit to produce lab quality recording in the harshest electrical environment imaginable – the patient‘s home!

Worldwide compliance
The solutions available from Lifelines iEEG all meet the necessary regulatory requirements for sale into the EU and USA.
