Company details

Our company, Podiart Kft and its predecessor Pedikom Kft, was among the first in the world to start the modern examination and novel treatment of feet differing from traditional orthopaedic methods. We have been using our patented method to check people’s feet for over 15 years. During this time we have scanned and stored images for more than half a million patients. The scientific work has been going on continuously in cooperation with our partners, who have also acquired great experience.

We regard the foot as a complex, biomechanical construction. Its stability is provided by an arched structure comprised of bones, muscles and ligaments, and it is moved by complicated forces. This biomechanical approach to the working of the foot led to new principles of treatment.

Over the last 15 years we have had numerous imitators and rivals, mainly in the field of computer-based foot diagnostics. Newer and newer and far more expensive examination devices have appeared on the market without resounding success. There are many reasons for this but above all the simplicity and reliability of our method combined with affordability have maintained our leading position.

Both the diagnostics, and designing and producing the orthotics are the result of long years of experience. Examining the feet of and making orthotic insoles for half a million people as well as their feedback enriched the knowledge base which is the best quality guarantee for this activity.

By standing barefoot on a glass sheet the distribution of the pressure on the sole can be accurately seen on the other side of the glass. A scan is made of this to produce a “pressure map”, which is the basis of the foot check by computer. Certain pressure distribution patterns indicate foot problems and every disorder has its own distinctive picture.

The aim of Podiart’s treatment is to correct malaligned pressure distribution and restore the disturbed balance of the foot. Based on Dr Imre Kökényesi’s patent, after scanning the foot qualified specialists design a map for the orthotics tailored to the individual’s feet. The individual orthotic insole is made on the basis of this map. It is made of soft, natural materials, and is comfortable to wear and non-allergic.

Experience is a highly important scientific working method and the cornerstone of most sciences. From the outset our company sought to cooperate with specialist partners who have gained an ever increasing amount of experience in the course of their own healing work and can pass this on to us, thus developing the method. Every pair of orthotic insoles made contributes to this, and all feedback and advice is fed into the system, helping to make our orthotics better and better. Our vast knowledge base is unique and no one else has made so many scans and stored so much information for the purpose of future examinations as we have.

This diamond has been polished through immense experience and a vast amount of human knowledge and invention to make it sparkle ever brighter, so that its light reaches everyone who uses our orthotics. This results in better foot function and improved static foot problems, better quality walking or at least feet you can live with.

Our staff is comprised of recognised experts in their own fields, and our company hopes to benefit from their knowledge for many years to come.
