"Z"-trochanteric and "Z"-light trochanteric nailing

The characteristics of  "Z"- and “Z”-light type trochanteric nailing
The "Z" and “Z” light trochanteric nailing was primarily developed for the surgical treatment of trochanteric fractures and of some cases of femoral neck fractures. The system combines the biomechanical advantages of the intramedullary nailing and the traditional dynamic hip screwing. Due to its wide length- and diameter ranges it can offer an excellent surgical solution for the upper third femur fractures, and even for its combinations with diaphyseal fractures. The essential component of the system is a dynamic hip screw that is inserted into the femoral neck. The hip screw is able to compress the fracture, but it has a dynamic behavior during the healing. A fixing screw, which is inserted in the nail, ensures both the dynamization and the prevention of the rotation of the hip screw after the surgery. The aiming device is made from a radiolucent material.

Design of implants
The nails can be applied for both solid and cannulated techniques. The system offers nails with 130° and 135° according to the variable CCD angles. The anatomical fit provides easy insertion. The long sizes of the nail are anatomically curved, they can be ordered for the right and for the left femur differenciatedly. The distal end of the nails has an oval hole for dynamization. For slim bones, nails with smaller diameter i.e. "light" versions can be ordered.  The “Z” and “Z” light nails are available in steel or in titanium alloy materials.

Proximal femoral nailing

General characteristics of proximal femoral nailing
The proximal femoral nailing offers right osteosynthesis for the femoral neck -, for the trochanteric -, and for the various fractures of the upper third part. In some cases of the femoral neck fracture, the rotation of the head needs to be prevented. This is ensured by a double neck screw. The combined use of the two neck screws provides an increased strength for the system. The more distal, thicker neck screw is able to compress the fracture.

Design of the implants
The proximal femoral nails are available in short, solid or long, cannulated versions. The long sizes of the nail are anatomically curved, they can be ordered for the right and for the left femur differenciatedly. The distal end can be fixed by two locking screws, dynamization of the fracture can also be ensured.

Tibial-, femoral-, retrograde femoral nailing

Characteristics of tibial-, femoral-, retrograde femoral nailing
The development of the three nails had the important aspect to make one complex surgical instrument set suitable for their implantation. This is a real "3-in-1" solution which is particularly advantageous in case of surgical treatment of polytraumatized patients.

This complex system enables the surgical treatment of wide indication area, with the same surgical technology.

Distal aiming device helps the accurate locking in the distal holes. The tools of the mechanical distal aiming and following the careful aiming steps together provide very good aiming accuracy. 

Design of the implants
The anatomical bend and the cannulated design of the tibial nail provide good fit and easy implantation. The oval hole of the proximal end allows also a dynamic fracture fixation. AP- and lateral holes are available for the distal locking.

The wide diameter range of the femoral nail provides large adaptability. The four-position locking possibility in the upper third makes the nail suitable for various indications. For the proximal condyle locking, in addition to the usual locking hole sizes, 6.5 mm locking screw is also available.

The retrograde femoral nail is anatomically curved. Distal condyle locking can happen in four positions, with 4,9mm and 6.5 mm screws. Proximal locking is possible in two positions, with 4.9-mm screws.
