BONE TUMOR RESECTION

Based on image analysis (Ct and MRI), the bone tumor is located accurately. The cutting trajectories are chosen including a user-defined safe margin. A patient-specific instrument is then manufactured by 3D printing and delivered at the hospital for final sterilization.
In the operative theater, it finds its unique position onto the bone thanks to the specific surface. Then, the saw blade is guided by its flat surface.

Patient Specific Cranial Implant - Custom made cranioplasty

Patient specific implant and instrumentation
Based on the patient's medical images, a mold is manufactured by 3D printing and delivered at the hospital for final sterilization. 
In the operating theater, the surgeon manufactures the implant by introducing bone cement into the mold. Within a few minutes only, the implant is ready to be fixed into the patient by any way at all

3D MODEL

Patient specific anatomical model
An anatomical model illustrates extremely precisely the anatomy of a specific patient, with the aim of planning and discussing the surgery much more easily.

First, the reconstruction of the patient's anatomy is performed based on the patient's medical images. Then, the models are produced by means of high-tech 3D printing to provide the surgeon with sterilizable and biocompatible models of the patient. Those models can therefore be used inside the operating room, assisting the entire surgical team.

We are a team of engineers assisting surgeons during complex surgeries.

Using 3D softwares, additional manufacturing technologies and strong knowledge of the surgical field, 3D-Side plans complex interventions and provides the surgeon with patient-specific instruments or custom implants to perform the surgery. These instruments will reliably transfer the pre-operative planning into the operation room, increasing health care quality as well as reducing the operating time.

Using a secured communication channel, the surgeon can easily send medical images by clicking on "Start now!" on top of the page. After treatment, he visualizes his 3D surgery planning and supervises the engineering work. After validation, he receives bio-compatible bone models and patient-specific instruments that are sterilized on site.
