SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW

The SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW system is a rack based multimedia platform which takes a new step in maximizing ergonomics for the distribution, display, transmission and storage of surgical videos and patient data in the OR.

Highly praised by many clients, SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW offers all the advantages of centralized multifunction command, including the control of critical equipment such as surgical lights and cameras.

One of the many advantages of SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW is its seamless compatibility with all video capture medical devices, regardless of specialization or manufacturer. In addition, its modular structure easily offers scalability based on evolving needs and future investment in new hardware and equipment. To facilitate the cost-effective transition from older devices to state of the art video standards, the entire SurgiMedia® range is compatible with HD imaging up to 1080p but also, thanks to its wiring with 3D and Ultra-HD 4K sources.
Thanks to its encoded SmartConverters , connecting a mobile device in the OR has never been so easy: SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW automatically identifiy the connected source and pre-visualize the video signal.

Featuring intuitive icons based touch screen interface, SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW easily allows users to:
  • Import patient series / studies from PACS or other DICOM server
  • Visualize the images in windowed or full-screen modes
  • Modifiy series/images luminosity and contrast windowings
  • Zoom, de-zoom or move images
  • Measure lengths, surfaces or angles directly on images
  • Utilise the «movie» function to scan images pile in settable automatic mode
  • Fuse correlated studies to enhance some particular structures
  • Orientate the images display in radiological or surgical orientation
  • Recreate image piles using the Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR) mode
  • Create high fidelity 3D rendering view
  • Capture and distribute videos on many surgical or wall mounted monitors
  • Record surgical procedures with sequencing that is simple and easy to understand
  • Share data with remote surgeons or other medical staff
  • Archive videos and images in DICOM format files on a server or PACS
Installed on a ceiling pendant, wall-mounted or embedded, the 21.5 or 24” control panel of the SurgiMedia® DistriVIEW meets all medical standards, including use in sterile conditions, directly under the control of surgeons.

Derivated from SurgiMedia® 21.5”, its elder brother, DICOMedia 21.5” is a first step digital light-box that offers the possibility to display and handle radiological images and studies with ultimate details.

With DICOMedia 21.5’’, You will :

  • Import patient series / studies from PACS or other DICOM server
  • Visualize the images in windowed or full-screen modes
  • Modifiy series/images luminosity and contrast windowings
  • Zoom, de-zoom or move images
  • Measure lengths, surfaces or angles directly on images
  • Utilise the «movie» function to scan images pile in settable automatic mode
  • Fuse correlated studies to enhance some particular structures
  • Orientate the images display in radiological or surgical orientation
  • Recreate image piles using the Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR) mode with obliques orientations
  • High fidelity 3D rendering

The touch interface is the easiest and fastest way to interact with 21.5’’ offered features and the integrated DICOM Viewer is multi-touch compatible. Video Modules

Specially designed as peripheral extensions to SurgiMedia® 21.5’’, the different Video Modules offers the possibility to expand the number of video/computer inputs and video outputs. Combined with SurgiMedia® 21.5”HD, SelectBOX allows selection and display of two among seven inputs to one monitor (wall mounted or pendant mounted). Another monitor can be connected to the loop-through output to display the same images. On top of this, SelectBOX benefits of an integrated PIP (Picture IN Picture) /PAP (Picture AND Picture) feature. All selection and integration features being controlled by SurgiMedia® 21.5” interface.

Combined with SurgiMedia® 21.5”HD² DistriBOX allows selection and distribution of four among seven inputs to two monitors (wall mounted or pendant mounted) with different sources being displayed (other monitors can be connected to the loop-through output to display the same images). On top of this, DistriBOX benefits of an integrated PIP (Picture IN Picture) /PAP (Picture AND Picture) feature. All selection and integration features being controlled by SurgiMedia® 21.5” interface.

VideoBOX is a variation of DistriBOX with same features but mechanically different as directly integrated in a drawer of a surgical pendant. This configuration allows a better integration with less external cables. VideoBOX are often designed in collaboration with industrial manufacturing partners.

About us

Company details

If ISIS was mostly a great Egyptian goddess, it is also a French company (ISIS stands for INTELLIGENT SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS & SYSTEMS) created 2001 and engaged in high-tech research and development, offering expert design and manufacturing of smart Video/Data Management solutions for the operating room. In choosing SurgiMedia solutions, users not only gain highly recognized expertise, but also high quality service, rigorous, responsive, attentive, and courteous from a team which has built a reputation over more than fifteen years of service, accompanies clients throughout the process of integration and beyond, for post installation and ongoing support.

Background and skills : apart Video/Data Management, SurgiMedia engineers and clinical specialists were at the forefront of emerging technologies in Computer Assisted Surgery and gained their experience through leading companies in this field. It is the combination of solid expertise in the field of surgery and technical expertise – in as much software as robotics – that allows this team to develop high performing products adapted to the needs and constraints of surgical teams. SurgiMedia offers expertise in the form of consulting on the technical realm of the operating room in areas such as: DICOM radiologic images transfer and display, video or computer sources management and display, video transmission, robotics, lasers, surgical navigation, surgical software, and the centralized command of devices.

SurgiScope® was one of the former systems, it is a robotized tool-holder designed for surgical neuro-navigation and was developed by our engineers at the company early beginnings. Specifically designed for microscope-assisted neurosurgical applications. Equipped with numerous automated functions and ergonomic interfaces, the SurgiScope® is controlled by an easy-to-use touch-screen and, equipped with an instrument holder kit, the SurgiScope® can hold and precisely position endoscopic tools or biopsy needles. The surgeon no longer needs to lift the microscope eyepiece to see surgical display screens as, pioneer in virtual reality, the SurgiScope’s image injection module displays correlated data in the microscope oculars, directly within the surgeon’s field of view. Even if SurgiScope® was a real technical success, and 20 devices among the 40 sold still used in practice, this product is not promoted and sold any more.

Consulting services : national training organizations like the National Center of Hospital Expertise (CNEH) or engineering associations like the French Association of Biomedical Engineers (AFIB) consult us regularly to present on state of the art medical equipment in Surgical Robotics, in Computer-Assisted Surgery or Video/Data Management. Similarly, SurgiMedia applications engineers regularly assist in training sessions for state licensed operating room nurses (IBODEs) for institutions such as the Military and University hospitals.
