THE CT-EMS LEG TRACTION SPLINT

The CT-EMS is a Leg Traction Splint designed for Pre Hospital Care and Patient transport. It is primarily used on patients with mid-line femur fractures. The CT-EMS helps relieve patient pain and prevents further damage to surrounding muscle and tissue while reducing the risk of death caused from severed arteries. The CT-EMS is made of carbon tubing which snaps together via an internal bungee. Traction is achieved with a 4 to1 purchase system using a small line to apply tension. This method results in a very precise and delicate form or traction that is also powerful enough to be effective on extra large adults. The CT-EMS is extremely compact, light and strong.

BENEFITS AND FEATURES

- Carbon Fiber Tubing: Corrosion resistant, temperature stabile, extremely high strength to weight ratio, x- ray translucent.

- 4:1 Purchase Traction System: makes it easy to apply ample traction for even the largest patient. The V- Jam cleat makes it easy to readjust traction, key in long transport situations. Includes safety clip to prevent accidental releases.

- Application: The CT-6 comes out of the bag ready to go; all of the necessary parts are attached to the splint. There is no way to lose pieces, resulting in very fast application times.

- Instruction Manual: Each splint comes with its own “quick reference” two sided instruction manual that is water proof and tear resistant.

SPECIFICATIONS

Light: Unit weighs 1lb./360 grams
Compact: Unit fits in small synch bag, 11 x 4 x 3in.
Strong: Carbon Fiber poles and injection molded plastics.
Effective: Four to one pulley system for efficient, easily adjustable traction.
One unit fits both Adult and Pediatric patients.

THE CT-6 MILITARY LEG TRACTION SPLINT NSN# 6515 01 521 5730

The CT-6 is a Leg Traction Splint designed for Pre Hospital Care and Patient transport, specifically in combat scenarios. It is primarily used on patients with mid-line femur fractures. The CT-6 helps relieve patient pain and prevents further damage to surrounding muscle and tissue while reducing the risk of death caused from severed arteries. The CT-6 is made of carbon tubing which snaps together via an internal bungee. A Cobra buckle secures the Ischial strap to the upper leg and groin. These buckles prevent accidental releases and are commonly used by US military forces. Traction is achieved with a 4 to1 purchase system using a small line to apply tension. This method results in a very precise and delicate form or traction that is also powerful enough to be effective on extra large adults. The CT-6 is extremely compact, light and strong.

FastSet-3 Fiberglass moldable utility splint. A Complete Splinting Solution.

The FS-3 is an easily moldable fiberglass splint that can be activated with water and hardens in less than three minutes. Its strength and molding abilities make the FS-3 highly versatile; it has potential uses in multiple applications. The FastSet-3 can actually be form-fitted for displaced bones that can't be realigned, or for dislocated joints.  The FS-3 provides it’s patient with the ideal orthopedic splinting experience. It combines the easy application of utility splints with the advantages of a fiberglass cast. The patient can be immobilized moments after the first responder arrives.   The inside of the splint has a soft moisture wicking lining, for comfortable skin contact.  During the 2 to 3 minutes it takes for the splint to set up, you can gently form the FS-3. This allows the responder to get the ideal combination of stability and patient comfort.  The Fast Set-3 is x-ray-translucent, so it can be left in place until a final disposition on how best to manage the injury is reached.

The FastSet-3 is packaged in a sealed, easy to open bag. Each unit includes easy open tear holes, which allow for fast night applications. Kits are available so that activation and the ability to secure the splint is on hand.  A complete Kit includes: 1 FS-3, 1 Responder Gauze, 1 30ml SalJet. Several sizes available.

About us

Company details

FareTec, Inc. is a Medical device manufacturer, founded in 1991. Our facility is located in Painesville OH, 20 miles East of Cleveland. We specialize in devices for pre-hospital care both in the civilian and military markets, domestically and abroad.

For years, the company’s primary focus has been on splints and various immobilization devices. The QD-4, Hare style leg traction splint, has been an industry standard along with our ladder splints and utility splints. FareTec, Inc. has evolved in the 21st century by introducing the CT-EMS/CT-6 leg traction splint, LifeBox50 and the FS-3 Utility splint. These items represent the latest in leg traction, immobilization and insulation technology. Please visit their product pages for more details.

In 2004 Responder Products was launched as a sister company to focus on export sales. It has been designed to function as a manufacturer’s agent on specialty products to Europe, the Mid East and Austral-Asia countries. Learn more at the Responder Products website.

In 2009 FareTec, Inc.. announced its latest line of products: the LifeBox50s. Rising requirements for Cold Therapy following cardiac arrest, along with increasing requirements for more stable drug and blood temperature controls, created a void in the market for a portable temperature controlled device. The LifeBox50 has been designed to solve these issues by combining a rugged transport container and state-of-the-art insulation panels.
