LCD SCREEN FOR GRAPHIC DISPLAY: All settings and measured values are shown on the LCD graphic display placed at the centre of the control panel. The practical encoder on the control panel allows setting all the parameters and surfing the various displays:
  • the numerical values display;
  • the menu display;
  • the settings display;
  • the time setting display;
  • all the TREND displays: air temperature, skin temperature, peripheric skin temperature, relative humidity, oxygen concentration.
The LCD display and the control by means of the encoder give the maximum MODULARITY to the incubator, with the possibility of enhancing its functions just through a software updating. PERIPHERIC TEMPERATURE MONITORING: The second skin probe, placed on the baby’s foot or on a twin, allows performing a further temperature measurement.

Alhena and Alhena Plus

The Alhena series of Infant Warmers are considered the best for personnel “adept at work” because they permit a more direct control of the temperature, observation and also free access to the baby and to carry out in the most efficient way possible reanimation, oxygen therapy, and the execution of medical procedures which call for more than one person to be working at the same time.

The Alhena plus created by GINEVRI, respecting the current safety standards, which it fully satisfies all those requirements, supplies other services which make it a true and complete newborn therapy centre. Amongst the most important design characteristics and functions of the Alhena plus there are characteristics unique with respect to other models available on the market, the presence of a Phototherapy system created with the technical innovation of 6 Blue Power LED’s (with wavelength centred around 455nm) which make an efficient treatment of jaundiced newborns possible, being 5 or 6 times more powerful than those devices equipped with traditional fluorescent lamps.

The illumination is also provided using 4 white Daylight LED’s which make it possible to observe the baby without any altering the baby’s natural colour.
An advanced electronic control panel permits simultaneous access to all the functions using simply to understand procedures thus insuring the maximum ease of use.

The Alhena series can control the heating level by the following fuctions:
  • Automatic Mode;
  • Manual Mode;
  • Pre-Heating Mode.
A complete set of alarms give the maximum safety of operation: the devices are supplied with both visual and acoustic alarms for HI and LOW Skin Temperature, Malfunction and/or Disconnection of the skin sensor probe and Power Loss. The Apgar module permits monitoring of the Apgar index by means of a digital timer and an acoustic signal at intervals of 1, 3, and 5 minutes from activation.

The manouverability of the patient bed, adjustable in a 360° arc using a round tilting system and equipped with sidewalls individually capable of being folded down and also removable confirm the distinctive characteristics of the GINEVRI neonatal therapy centres.

One Beam

The One Beam with it’s ease of use and it’s remarkable precision, gives the precise information on bilirubin levels and support which the Doctors need.
The One Beam allows for a rapid photo-metric analysis of the bilirubin total in the serum (totals of the conjugated and non-conjugated) using a capillary tube as an optical cell.
The bilirubin concentration is determined with a photo-metric measurement at the 455nm and 575nm wavelengths: the first wave length gives important information on the quantity of bilirubin, the second gives an indication of the presence of hae-moglobin, the substance which interferes with accurate measurement of the bilirubin level. Thanks to an algorithmic mathematical calculation, the One Beam is capable of eliminating the haemoglobin interference factor allowing for accurate results to be of the bilirubin concentration level in the blood. The results are immediately displayed on the One Beam’s OLED screen in mg/100ml, or alternatively in micro-moli per litre.

The One Beam’s important innovation with respect to previous GINEVRI models is the use of a single optical beam which illuminates the sample at one single point, achieved using a special system of automatic filters. Thanks to this system it is possible to have a:

  • More stable signal – because when the light beam crosses the sample it is cleaned of all frequencies not useful for the measurement, thereby reducing the photo-isomerization phenomenon of the bilirubin which distorts the measurement, guaranteeing a more stable signal.
  • More precise – because the reading is taken at only one point of the capillary tube which eliminates errors and discrepancies caused by readings taken at two different points.
  • Stronger signal – due to the fact that it is a single beam is used not one which has been split down into two or more beams.
A special system of collimation and concentration of the light beams allows for a reading even when the sample quantity of serum obtained after centrifugation is very small, as in the case of polycythemia (up to a haematocritic level of 80%), or due to partial filling of the capillary tube.
The One Beam’s sophisticated electronics, micro-processor controlled, guarantees better working of the signal which is then transformed into the corresponding bilirubin level and immediately displayed on the OLED screen.
The One Beam with printer allows for immediate printing of the results of every single exam.

Baby Start

The Baby Start is a manual resuscitator, light and compact, suitable suitable for delivery rooms, postpartum, in special units for neonatal care and in NICU.

It is a simple and efficient device to resuscitate asphyxiated neonates by mask or endotracheal tube. Resuscitation is carried out with positive pressure and manual control and free expiration. The Gas mix flows in the lungs at pressures adjustable by the operator. The use of the T piece can realize the desired PIP and to determine a constant PEEP to create the FRC and to improve the Tidal Volume.

Resuscitation pressures (PIP and PEEP) are easily readable on the fast response manometer. Above the chosen peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) the safety “max pressure” valve comes into operation to avoid, the danger of excessive inspiratory pressures.

Manual resuscitation is achieved placing thumb on the PEEP valve, placed on the T-piece in a confortable position for the operator. The gas mixture flows until the thumb is removed.

The resuscitator works connected to a supply of air, oxygen or a mixture of both, through a Flowmeter, Blender or a Mixer, that can be then connected to a Humidifier.

The device uses a single use patient circuit completed with a expiratory valve and silicone neonatal mask

The Baby Start can be installed, by dedicated support, on Infant Warmers, on Transport Incubator or Resuscitation Trolley.

On the upper part of the device there is a button to activate the timer that counts seconds and that underlines, by a longer sound, 5, 10 and 15 s. This function is useful to perform a sustained inflation.

The phototherapy lamp MIRA, use latest LED technology to produce blue therapeutic light (peak 460nm) and fiber optics to give therapy to little patients affected by jaundice. It has a compact and light structure with a soft touch control panel where are presentwarnings, alarms and a wide display indicating therapy time, highly visible up to 7m.

The therapy light, produced by a high power LED, is transmitted, trough a flexible fiber optic cable, to a lightening element of small dimensions that has to be placed in contact with patient skin.

One of the characteristics is that of being able to set an “intensive therapy” further to the “normal therapy” (guidelines AAP 2004*).

The compact design of the system enables to perform the therapy directly in the baby cot as well as for homecare. If necessary it can also be used combined with other conventional phototherapy lamps, therefore ensuring maximum therapeutic efficiency and a sensible reduction of the therapy exposure time for the patient.

The phototherapy lamp MIRA is portable and can be positioned on a shelf or on a pivoting trolley.
