BeeBlot TM - Semi Automation for Strip Based Assays

Optional heated or non-heated instrument for automating strip based assays to suit your requirements.

Once samples have been added manually, the instrument can run up to 12 different pre-programmed assays, for automating molecular based and Western Blot strip based assays.

The instrument uses reversible peristaltic pumps to dispense reagents to the sample tray, and optionally from the software, the pumps can be reversed to save reagent back into the reagent bottles. The tray for the samples and membrane strips allows for rocking, tilting and level position during incubation. The operator interface is via a keypad and display. Once the samples have been added to the tray the assay is automated, and the developed strips in the tray can be removed for the analysis of the strips by eye, or using Bee's AutoCam 48 to offer automated scanning, and interpretation using third party software.

Robex 12 TM - Processor

DNA extractor

The Robex 12 offers an automated process for the enrichment of micro-organisms and the isolation of microbial DNA from whole blood and other sterile body fluids. 

The microbial DNA can be used for molecular analysis of pathogens causing sepsis, meningitis and other infections The process starts from sample through to elution using a novel patented vacuum based procedure. 

The instrument automates from 1 to 12 samples per run using pre prepared reagents in a sealed container and disposable columns and cartridges provided with each kit. 

The assay takes place inside a filtered column with individually monitored miniature vacuum pumps passing the reagents through the filter at different stages of the assay until the elution is released and dispensed into an elution tube.

micro b TM - Semi-Automated Microarray processor

Semi-Automated instrument for microarray processing.

A compact and practical easy to use microplate processor, which offers advanced heating and cooling to within +/- 1.0 degree centigrade or better per well for standard sciPLEXPLATE 96 from Scienion or compatible microplates.

A special incubator provides shaking and an overhead heater to minimise evaporation for low volumes.

Liquid handling is performed via a micro-stepping controlled 4 channel peristaltic pump, with tip picking and ejection combined with aspirating needles for washing the wells. The microplate is automatically tilted for aspiration to avoid touching the microarray at the bottom of the well during aspiration.

Pre-heating is provided for up to two reagents if required, and positions are available for up to 3 or more reagents on the deck. Also on the deck there is a position for the disposable tips, waste, and tip waste basket.

The operator interface is via an alphanumerical display and control knob at the front of the instrument. The operator can select up to 16 different pre-programmed assays, which can offer very accurate temperature control ranging from 20 degrees centigrade to 65 degrees centigrade.

RoboScreen TM - Full Automation for Allergy Analysis

Automation for Allergy
The RoboScreen is available from MEDIWISS, and can process up to 36 samples per run, from sample processing to image analysis.

The instrument has an integrated barcode reader for sample ID, and can add the samples to the allergy membranes using disposable robotic tips. The assay process is fully automated, adding reagents for incubation and drying the membranes at the end of the assay, before the on-board scanner images the developed membranes for image analysis. The integrated PC is connected to the LIMS and interpretation software for downloading a worklist and uploading the analysed sample results.

Bee Robotics Ltd is a privately owned company based in North Wales, UK, and was established in November 1999. The company occupies four industrial units, which houses its manufacturing and design facilities. The company has become well established in the automation of molecular and Western Blot strip based assays, and more recently, expanding into other fields of automation, offering OEM solutions to a wide range of clients.

Bee first exhibited at MEDICA in 2002, which has since become its base for meeting existing and new clients, to discuss their automation requirements, in various fields. Bee has become well known in the robotics industry, working closely with their clients to develop the right products, in a timely manner, from concept to market. Many clients have returned, to further enhance their automation requirements, which speaks volumes for the company.

Bee has been expanding and growing steadily, and in 2006 employed more graduates in mechanical and electronic engineering, to modernise our products, and introduce our next generation instruments, offering more advanced electronics and software, with a modular approach to mechanical designs. Bee has invested heavily in R&D over the years, and continuous to keep up to date with the latest technologies, to ensure that we have the best tools for product development.
