The Meditech microVENT® is the most advanced hand held pre-hospital emergency resuscitator / ventilator in use in the world today. Designed specifically to meet the needs of EMS specialists the microVENT® offers unique benefits to its users. Practical and robust the microVENT® resuscitation / ventilation system is the smallest and lightest available. microVENT® is a pneumatically powered time/volume cycled resuscitator / ventilator with negligible drive gas consumption providing the added benefit of manual triggering for the use during external cardiac massage, or automatic cycling for longer term ventilation for patient transport. There is no need for a separate control module as all the controls are integrated into the handset eliminating the need for the operator to look away from the patient when switching between manual and automatic resuscitation/ventilation or making adjustments to tidal volume / frequency. The microVENT's unique design provides total fingertip control, improved patient care and a superior seal between mask and patient in a single compact handset. The microVENT® is effective as well as being an all round smaller, lighter and easier resuscitation / ventilator designed specifically to improve patient care in the pre-hospital environment.

microVENT® is available in a range of calibration options.

The microVENT Adult /Child Advanced, is still manufactured and supported. We have renamed the product the microVENT Classic, Advanced, Adult and Child. “Classic” reflecting the products status as the original calibration, as other calibrations and features have been introduced into the range. The Classic is calibrated to give tidal volumes from the child setting of 300ml at 24 min-1 to the adult setting of 1200ml at 12 min-1.

Since the conception of the microVENT resuscitator, resuscitation guidelines have changed with smaller tidal volumes being recommended. Our latest microVENT World resuscitator spans a range of tidal volumes from the child setting of 150ml at 25 min-1 to the adult setting of 1000ml at 10 min-1. The product is available with patient synchronisation (“Advanced”) or without (“Standard”) and with or without Airmix (Airmix enables the user to select 100% or 50% oxygen, without the Airmix the resuscitator gives 100% oxygen).

The microVENT CPR is a resuscitator with a fixed frequency of 10 breaths per minute and a 1 second inspiratory time. Currently produced with tidal volumes adjustable from 150ml to 600ml.

The microVENT Twin resuscitator is equipped with independent controls for frequency and volume so that, for example, a user could select to maintain a frequency of 10 min-1 at lower volumes as may be required during asynchronous CPR with a protected airway.

All the above models of microVENT resuscitator have the option of manual triggered (controlled flow) resuscitation as may be suitable during a 2 ventilations : 30 compressions CPR sequence
