Prevention is becoming increasingly important in healthcare. Instead of treating diseases only after they cause symptoms, more and more companies are turning to digital solutions that identify risks early, support ongoing therapies, and help prevent complications. At MEDICA 2025, exhibitors showcased how modern medical technology supports patients over the long term while also easing the workload of healthcare professionals.
In our interview, James Lee, Marketing Manager China at heyer medical AG, explains how connected CPAP and APAP devices improve the treatment of sleep apnea and snoring. Through cloud-based functions, physicians can review treatment progress on a daily basis and adjust therapy settings remotely. This allows treatments to be optimized without requiring patients to visit a doctor's office or clinic for every adjustment.
Another example is presented by Christoph Mardo, Head of Regional Sales at Novacare GmbH. Intelligent mattress systems automatically adjust pressure distribution or reposition patients independently. This helps prevent painful pressure ulcers, making an important contribution to prevention that not only improves patients' quality of life but can also help avoid significant follow-up healthcare costs.
Our video report from MEDICA 2025 demonstrates how digital therapies are meaningfully connecting prevention and treatment.
