Saskia Biskup: passion for personalized medicine

As part of our "Women in Health" series, we introduce you to Saskia Biskup. She is not only an entrepreneur, but also a researcher and specialist in human genetics.

Her scientific work has focused on Parkinson's disease, among other things, and today she primarily focuses on various types of cancer. Saskia Biskup says that her greatest inspirations in her daily work are her team and her patients. She also considers it a privilege to be able to work closely with her husband Dirk Biskup – in 2009, they founded CeGat GmbH (Center for Genomics and Transcriptomics) in Tübingen, which specializes in genetic diagnostics.

She particularly values the BioRegio STERN business network, of which CeGat is one of more than 400 member companies. It is clear that networking and collaboration are naturally important aspects of her work. When asked how she supports the next generation in the healthcare industry, she remains modest and simply says, "My door is always open."
