How I see the future of the healthcare industry
"Healthcare will look fundamentally different within the next decade. Rapid advances in AI, large language models, agentic systems, and eventually quantum capabilities will transform the industry.
At the same time, prevention and -omix will become central topics. With aging populations and rising healthcare costs, empowering individuals to actively manage their health, supported by digital tools and wearables, will become increasingly important."
Who or what has influenced me most in my professional career
"My voluntary work for the organization dropsfound.org has had a profound impact on me. Experiencing firsthand how privileged many of us are, and contributing to improving the lives of others, is extremely rewarding and shapes one’s perspective.
Equally important is my academic work at FAU. Teaching and engaging with students and researchers constantly challenges me, keeps me at the cutting edge of technology, and reinforces the importance of lifelong learning.
Two decades with Siemens, many roles, many places, many people. The opportunity to learn from and work alongside colleagues from so many different cultures and backgrounds is one of the greatest gifts a career can offer. That is something I am very grateful for."

Best advice I ever received
"There is rarely one single piece of advice that applies to every situation. Throughout my career I had the privilege of learning from many outstanding personalities.
Two principles stayed with me: if something is described as "too" much of anything, it often signals a problem. Patience is essential for long-term success.
There is also a Chinese saying I value: 'Hǎo hǎo xuéxí, tiān tiān xiàng shàng.'
It means: 'Learn a little every day and improve every day.'"
