We are nowadays already able to weave implants out of artificial fibers that can replace tissue or heal injuries. Different materials like polymers or nitinol are used to create flexible shapes. But the materials and their uses can still be improved. Akram Idrissi and Kai-Chieh Kuo from the RWTH Aachen University explain in our video interview what they are currently researching and how this can help patients in the future.
