Daniel Kraft, MD: My keynote will explore how converging technologies – from Gen AI, digital health tools, multimodal 'omics, to extended reality, and data-driven platforms – are transforming prevention, diagnosis, and care delivery. I will highlight how these innovations, when connected in smarter ecosystems, can accelerate the shift from reactive "sick care" to proactive, personalized, and continuous health and 'self' care.

Which technologies will be shaping the future of healthcare and medicine?

Kraft: AI, agent-based systems, next-gen wearables, digital biomarkers, genomics, synthetic biology, robotics, and immersive tech like AR/VR are all advancing rapidly. Together they create a powerful toolkit that can augment clinicians, empower patients, and reimagine how health systems deliver care – more precise, predictive, and participatory than ever before.

The healthcare of the future: digital, yet centered on the human

Various technologies will converge to shape the medicine of the future by creating a digital image of the patient. Together, they will enable comprehensive preventive care and treatment.

Can you give us a few examples of what the future of healthcare may look like?

Kraft: Imagine AI copilots supporting clinicians at the bedside, digital twins modeling an individual's health, at-home diagnostics that rival hospital labs, and therapies tailored to your unique genome. Care may move from hospitals to homes, guided by ambient sensing and predictive analytics, with virtual-first experiences blending seamlessly with in-person care.

What should the healthcare industry do to make this future vision come true?

Kraft: We must break down silos and foster cross-sector collaboration between clinicians, technologists, regulators, and patients. Adopting new payment models, investing in digital infrastructure, and building trust through transparency and equity will be key. By embracing innovation responsibly and inclusively, we can translate exponential technologies into meaningful impact.

About Daniel Kraft

Daniel Kraft is a Stanford and Harvard-trained physician-scientist, inventor, entrepreneur, and innovator. With over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation, Kraft has served as faculty chair for Medicine at Singularity University since its inception in 2008, and in 2011 founded NextMed Health (previously called Exponential Medicine) a program and community that explores convergent, rapidly developing technologies and their potential in biomedicine and healthcare. He serves as Chair of the XPRIZE Pandemic & Health Alliance.

He is often called upon to speak to the future of health, medicine and technology and has given four TED and two TEDMED Talks and has delivered keynotes to a diverse array of organizations.
