Anyone entering a hospital today quickly realizes that time is short. Nursing and medical staff are working at their limits, waiting times are often unavoidable, language barriers can make conversations difficult. At the same time, the need for fast, precise diagnostics is increasing. This is precisely where artificial intelligence comes in, not as a vision of the future, but as a tool for everyday medical practice.
In our interview, Jurriën Spoelstra, Sales Director EMEA at Holoconnects B.V., explains how AI is being used to make holographic medical professionals available in multiple languages and how this makes real conversations possible, even at a distance. The idea is to bring medical expertise to where it is needed without the need for specialist staff to be on site.
A second example is shown by Carol Lin, Sales Specialist at OSTAR Meditech Corp.: a small, portable device uses artificial intelligence to analyze heart rhythms and provides comprehensible results via an app, such as indications of atrial fibrillation or irregularities. This allows people to regularly check their heart health and react more quickly in an emergency.
What does this mean for patients, clinics and entire healthcare systems? Our video report from MEDICA 2025 shows how AI can be put to good use.
