The research focuses on enabling a comprehensive and individualized health profile for patients. The team uses common sensors from fitness trackers and connects them across manufacturers. Compatibility is a major challenge: most market-available sensors operate within closed systems, leading to fragmented data storage. These isolated data silos limit their usefulness in preventive care.
Jan Herbst, part of the research team, explains: “With rapid advancements, especially in human-machine communication, the 6G technology opens up numerous groundbreaking applications in medicine,” he says. “Focusing on effective preventive healthcare, we aim to enable doctors to monitor their patients’ health more efficiently and detect critical conditions and risks at an early stage.”
