We should all know more about first aid. Because many deaths, for example from cardiac arrest, could be prevented if more people knew about the correct behavior in an emergency. The International First Aid Day is intended to raise awareness of immediate and emergency measures and thus help more people to provide first aid.

For an individual, this may include performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and treating injuries at the scene of an accident. In any case, however, the simplest action that anyone can take is to alert emergency responders.

In an emergency, get down to it and start cardio-pulmonary resuscitation: This is the least everyone can do.
