People who have "recovered" from COVID-19 are not always fully "cured". Some patients continue to struggle with complications long after they became initially infected. The term "long COVID" is used to describe signs and symptoms that continue or develop after acute COVID-19, though it remains a poorly defined, complex syndrome.
