Hospitals are currently facing profound changes – not least due to the increasing concentration of medical services at specialized locations, which the hospital reform will bring about. Inevitably, this will result in a reduction in the range of services offered at smaller, regional locations. This poses the risk of gaps in healthcare provision, particularly in rural regions. At the same time, hospitals are tasked with maintaining high quality standards while remaining economically viable. In this context, digital networking and telemedicine will play a central role in ensuring healthcare security, reducing access barriers, and increasing the efficiency of the healthcare system. A digital infrastructure that captures, documents, evaluates, and prepares patient data for rapid, competent medical decisions makes a decisive contribution to the focused use of medical and nursing resources.
How exactly this can work will be demonstrated by the “Hospital of the Future” at MEDICA (November 11-14, 2024, at Messe Düsseldorf). In Hall 13 (Booth C04), decision-makers from hospitals will receive input and advice on the following topics:
• Digital infrastructure in hospitals: finding trustworthy solutions for telecooperation
• Intelligent compilation and processing of patient data instead of manual documentation: using medical resources efficiently
• Data-driven telemedicine and artificial intelligence in intensive care: personalized and predictive patient care
• Remote patient monitoring: conducting data-supported teleconsultations
New this year, the "Hospital of the Future" is expanding with a second area. In collaboration with the Korea Medical Device Association (KMDA), we present the "Korean Health Check-up," representing another crucial aspect of the hospital of the future. Visitors can experience firsthand how various instruments are used in health check-ups, such as measuring blood glucose levels, stress, intraocular pressure, and respiratory function. Additionally, the AI diagnostic software supports diagnoses for breast cancer, esophageal cancer, ECG, and more. The latest software solutions provide comprehensive analysis across various medical fields, including endoscopy, ECG, and ultrasound.
Guests of MEDICA and the German Hospital Day will have the opportunity to participate in exclusive tours. On-site, visitors can interact with organizers and selected manufacturers, experience telemedicine solutions live, and ask questions.
