Laboratory medicine forms a bridge between basic and applied research, technology development, complex data interpretation and clinical application in patient care. Robotics, automation, digitalization and machine learning have reached modern laboratory medicine and propel the development from a pure analytical to a data science driven discipline. Lab 4.0 will gear up this process by focusing on small, decentral devices and wearables, massive digitalization and networking as well as big data applications and artificial intelligence (AI).
The forum will present the most recent developments in the life science and lab diagnostic sector on four exciting theme days with spotlights on
perspectives of automation, robotics and AI in times of shortage of skilled staff,
novel developments in cardiovascular and highly sensitive cancer diagnostics,
green labs, personalized, value-based and integrative diagnostics, and
epigenetics and research on healthy ageing and age-related diseases.
The forum is held under the patronages of the DGKL and VDGH, and international alumni of DAAD will contribute to the young scientists day.
