The forum will present the most recent developments in the sector on four exciting theme days. One of the main focuses will be on the trend towards massive digitalisation and networking as well as big data applications and artificial intelligence (AI) that are currently emerging in laboratory diagnostics under the heading of “Lab 4.0”. In addition, the spotlight will be on current developments in laboratory medicine for cardiovascular diseases and cancer, the omnipresent shortage of skilled personnel in the medical and medical-technical field, and research on healthy ageing, with new findings on the genetic biological clock and ways of slowing down the ageing process being discussed.
