Faster diagnosis in emergency situations

Dear Sir or Madam,

In an emergency, every minute counts: in order to be able to diagnose more quickly, emergency physicians are increasingly using mobile emergency equipment. This saves valuable time, because with point-of-care sonography or tests they can already make a diagnosis on the spot and accordingly act earlier. Blood test detects childhood tumors based on their epigenetic profiles

A new study exploits the characteristic epigenetic signatures of childhood tumors to detect, classify and monitor the disease. The scientists analyzed short fragments of tumor DNA that are circulating in the blood. These "liquid biopsy" analyses exploit the unique epigenetic landscape of bone tumors and do not depend on any genetic alterations, which are rare in childhood cancers.

Detecting skin disorders based on tissue stiffness with a soft sensing device

By putting a piece of soft, strain-sensing sheet on the skin may be able to detect skin disorders non-invasively and in real-time very soon.
