Novaerus air purifiers use patented NanoStrike Technology, which can destroy up to 99.99 percent of viruses and pollutants in indoor air. It is a low- energy plasma technology that can destroy nano-sized microorganisms through a series of physical inactivation processes without producing hazardous waste products. How NanoStrike technology works
NanoStrike technology harnesses a range of physical concurrent pathogen inactivation process to safely dis-infect the air. NanoStrike coils provide a powerful strike that works to burst airborne pathogen cells, rapidly inactivating them, ensuring they are no longer a threat of infection.

Plasma technology for clinical cleanliness
For several years, plasma technology has been increasingly used in medical devices and clinical care. It is suitable for sterilizing implant surfaces, surgical instruments, and for direct application to wounds and skin to accelerate the healing process. Novaerus uses NanoStrike, an innovative form of plasma technology, to disinfect air.

Plasma is often referred to as the fourth state of matter in addition to solid, liquid and gas. When energy is added to a solid (usually in the form of heat), it becomes a liquid. If energy is added here again, the liquid becomes a gas. Finally, when a gas is confronted with energy, plasma is formed. Simply put, then, plasma is an energized gas, or a collection of positively charged particles (ions) and negatively charged particles (electrons). Plasma can also be found in nature. For example, in lightning strikes, the sun, the solar wind, and in auroras.

The advantages over other air purification technologies
NanoStrike delivers disinfection of airborne pathogens through its ability to inactivate viruses, bacteria and fungi, including their spores.  Conventional filtration technologies simply trap pathogens. So-called trap technologies, such as air filters, cannot be considered effective disinfection solutions because they do not inactivate pollutants, but only filter them out of the air and "trap" them. Pathogens can colonize inside the filters or "traps," multiply and escape back into the air, posing a renewed risk of infection. In addition, these filters must be changed regularly and disposed of as hazardous waste.
