Healing with Music | A tool that affects the senses

The Danish company inmutouch.com ApS brings the healing effect of music closer to trade fair visitors. The team presents a mobile therapy tool of a very special kind: the interactive sound cushion by inmu™ responds to the individual needs of people. Using multi-sensory stimulation based on AI technology (artificial intelligence), the inmu fundamentally innovates health promotion. Whether at the hospital, in care, or therapy – the interactive sound cushion supports holistic, body-related communication and promotes perception, communication, and movement skills. At the exhibition stand in Hall 14 / B15, nurses and private individuals can expect a new aid that can support conventional medicine and psychotherapy with sensory stimulation.

Music reaches deep into our senses and triggers reactions in our bodies. Music and vibrations can promote the healing process and inner balance. The inmu uses this principle in a unique way. As the first multi-sensory stimulation tool worldwide, it uses interactive music. Interactive music is music that is created together with the users.

Soundscapes that calm the nervous system
The aid works with multi-sensory stimulation. Thus, it offers the possibility to regulate the stimulation of the senses as well as the level of arousal – determined by the user himself. The round, soft sound cushion conceals advanced software with artificial intelligence (AI), which reacts actively to touch and movement. Regardless of how soft the interaction, it unfolds a meditative world of sound that changes and intensifies depending on the movement.

Communication without words, but with interactive music
The easy handling in combination with the music and the tactile elements make the inmu a special tool, especially for nonverbal communication. There is no dependence on constant supervision, the personal sense perception is strengthened entirely without guidance, and mobility is a great advantage. The inmu is handy, lightweight, and can accompany the affected person effortlessly in everyday life - whether at night, in critical moments, or while traveling. The inmu offers great flexibility, especially in daily routine and therapy.

Two inmu versions
Depending on the area of application and need, you can choose between two inmu versions. While the inmuRELAX provides deep, meditative soundscapes for relaxation, calmness, and well-being, the inmuDANCE promotes movement, serenity, and not least pleasure through a musical universe inspired by the 60s and the lightness of Bossa Nova. Depending on the model, the washable cover consists of hypoallergenic organic cotton (inmuRELAX), polyester (inmuRELAX) or a cotton-polyester blended fabric (inmuDANCE) in accordance with ÖKO-TEX Standard 100.

Barrier-free design
The award-winning design has been developed to fit every hand and body. The small haptic elements invite to be explored. The use is easy and intuitive for young and old. Especially weak and handicapped users benefit from it. There are no confusing switches, no remote control or app needed. Pleasant vibrations – perfectly coordinated to the music – enable even people with severely limited hearing to use the inmu.

Fields of application of the inmu
  • Dementia & Alzheimer's – as a dignified everyday companion. It can awaken cognitive abilities and keep them active. It brings peace, helps to reduce frustration and promotes joy.
  • Sleep disorders, stress or mental illness
  • At the hospital – to calm patients before and after surgery
